The caravan was well equipped with a functional kitchen for self catering (a mini fridge, microwave, kettle, hot/cold water etc). The sleeping area was supplied with a heater, fan and electric blankets to stave off the dipping nighttime mountain temperatures. Lulled to sleep by the patter of rain from the overhanging trees, I enjoyed one of the best nights’ rest I’ve had in years! We loved the whimsy and attention to detail: the twinkling string lights, the painted caravans, quaint garden setting for each caravan, the tiny verandas with matching chairs, the unique light fittings, antique cast iron stoves… there was lots to explore & our curiosity was piqued! This is an avant garde, refreshing and relaxed stay in beautiful Clarens. Thank you to our host for the warm welcome, readiness to assist (with everything including dining and breakfast reccs even before we checked in) and the generous hospitality!

The quaintness of the accommodation. It was well laid out and had all the amenities. The proximity to the Main Street was also really good. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our car was even washed.

The decor completely went with the gypsy vibe that was advertised. It is even more beautiful than the pictures! It was such a peaceful and welcoming environment and we loved that there were hidden pathways to go for a stroll to the square.

The fantastic gardens and great atmosphere

Loved the uniqueness of the Vans. Fantastic communication with the owner Shane. Lovely and clean. Welcome sherry on arrival lovely touch. Outdoor shower was lovely hot water. In good proximity to the town. Very private and quiet.

The attention to detail was amazing. Everything was pretty, boho and magical. Even the grass was mown in hearts! I absolutely loved it! I was squealing with excitement when I saw my wagon. Another tick on my bucket list

Such innovation to make a wagon into a home! My daughter & I felt at home immediately, we had luxurious baths, hid away in our bed / reading nook and slept so peacefully to the sound of silence. Shane & Sandy are wonderful hosts - so much happiness radiating from them.

It’s an adventure on it’s own sleeping in the vans. If you are looking for a different (but still very comfortable) breakaway, I would recommend this place. For couples it offers a little closer environment to reconnect and is sort of like a rehabilitation from the busy rat race you are use to. Book it, enjoy it and above all immerse yourself in a little adventure.

The location was perfect, the place was stunning so calming. The attention to detail in the Gypsy Wagon we stayed was unbelievable. We would definitely recommend to stay here if you are ever nr Clarens.

Everything about The Gypsy Wagons was a magical experience and Shane went out of his way to make our visit so exceptionally perfect Truly amazing and a most essential place to stay at least once We will definitely be back
