Overview
Situated along the banks of the Olifants River, Grootfontein Camping Villa's features kayaking facilities and fishing. Guests can also swim in the river or relax on a hammock by their tent. The canvas tents offer river and mountain views, and are provided with mattresses, linen, and towels. They also include a table, chairs and kitchenware. The camping village offers shared bathroom facilities with hot showers and flushing toilets. There is also a communal kitchen area with bonfire, microwave, refrigerator and freezer. Breakfast is available at a surcharge. Guests can go horse riding just 5 km from Wolfkop, and Citrusdal is 20 km away. Cape Town International Airport is 195 km away. From take the N1 direction Paarl. Take the N7 turnoff (left) toward Malmesbury. Continue on the N7 for 175km. Take the turn-off right from the N7 highway towards Citrusdal. When you enter Citrusdal, stop at the first stop street and then turn right on Keerom rd and carry on driving for 20km. You will see the entrance to the Grootfontein and Goue Vallei Campsite as it is a big white sign on the right hand side of the road. Turn right there and drive straight down to river where you will find the campsites. Goue Vallei campsite will turn slightly to the right. Follow the signs. Get cosy in nature with your camp already setup for you, alongside the beautiful Olifants River. The villa consists of: Wood fired Hot Tub. Wood can be purchased on site. Free standing braai with grid and utensils. Basic kitchenette with fridge, 2 plate stove, kettle, toaster. Running water and wash basin. Camp style cutlery & crockery. Upcycled lounge with table & chairs. 1 x Bell tent (king size bed). 2 x Dome tents (two single beds). Linen: sheets, pillows blankets (NOT DUVET). Sleeps 6 in total. Communal bathrooms are fitted with showers, basin and toilets.

“We will definitely NOT be back for this "glamp" experience, as our normal camp setup is better.”
This place is good for the summer months in groups. The river, views, and location are great. You would be able to spend the majority of your time outdoors. The views are beautiful. The addition of the hot blanket gets you through the cold evenings comfortably.

Samuel's assistance made the stay very pleasant. Loved that we could pick oranges and availability of the juicer. Hot tub was awesome and Samuel's assistance to getting it going was great. Peaceful and tranquil. Beds with electric blankets were perfect for the cold weather at night.

“Wonderful stay at Wolfkop!”
We loved the location. It is so peaceful next to the river. The hot tub is a huge bonus. Very good value for money and Wolfkop is one of my favourite places.

Loved the outdoor space. The canoes are an added bonus. The kids loved the camping experience. Gorgeous views. Very nice facilities, clean and neat. Well equipped. Samuel was always available to assist.

Absolutely refreshing experience. Magical and just much needed time out in nature. The river was just the cherry on top, I really enjoyed swimming and just lazying about in the water. The kids loved it, and were out the entire day. Between swimming, kayaking and running around. They only came home to really snack or eat. The units can get very hot, as there isn't air conditioning however we made the most of all the trees and picniced outside, which turned out being a awesome bonding moment, and peaceful naps in between. The hot tub was lekker, just a nice touch to the end of the evenings. The beds were very basic but so comfy. The host were very accommodating and helpful, and the site manager was very friendly.
