It's an experience altogether: the charming chateau, the friendly and experienced host, and the location between wineyards, lake, and ocean. Alexandre is by far one of the loveliest hosts, extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible. We absolutely loved it and recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone that wants to experience spending time in a unique location!

A great escape, good starting point

It was a great experience with a very welcoming host. The place is quiet, ideally placed for accessing both, Chateaus and vineyards as well as travelling to the Atlantic shore by car (we rent a car in bordeaux). The owner produce wine themselves from grapes of their own vineyards, some of them 60 years old. The available tour and tasting with the owner is time well spent and definitely to recommend. Breakfast is prepared everyday anew (croissant, chees, apple, applejuice, coffee etc.) and prepares well for tours. Rooms are quiet and well equipped.

The host Alexander and his family. The Chateau is a wining house and Alexander takes all the time to explain you all about his work and passion (the wintery) and the surroundings (what to see/where to eat).

Perfect stay for wine connaiseurs.

Mouton-Rothschild around the corner. Lafite-Rothschild aroung the corner. On the property they make their own wine, very nice. We got a nice tour of the winemaking facilities, that was amazing. The house itself brings you to former times, the room was spacious and had air conditioning. The beach of Hourtin is 20 minutes away. The host was super friendly and I hope that we can return.

Just the perfect leaping off place for the Medoc and Bordeaux

I honestly couldn't have had a better experience. Alexander, the owner, was incredibly helpful and friendly. He showed us exactly where everything was, and allowed us access to all sorts of amenities in the small chateau. The location was perfect for touring the wine region - very close to the very best Chateaus, and surrounded by vineyards. The room was much bigger and better than I expected for the price, and the bathroom was exquisite.

A generous host, a comfortable home and garden, and wonderful wine.

Alex and his family made us very welcome in their home. His tour and talk on his wine making work was generous and fascinating for anyone interested in wine.

Old vinery house, wine-making has >250 years of history and it's a must-visit place to learn about the top wine of France - Bordeaux! The house is nicely renovated and decorated with antique furniture and paintings which keeps its spirit. You are like staying in the comfortable museum. Spacious room. Good breakfast and wi-fi, silent and effective AC system provides the warm temperature you need (not always so in France in winter). The owner is a passionate wine-maker which gave us a great tour on his winery with degustation. After his exciting lectures and explanations (not to mentioning the degustation again!) we have learnt a lot about the wine culture and bought a couple of boxes of the delicious wine. He and his family were very friendly and helped us in everything: recommendations where to go, what to do and reservation the dinners in the great local restaurants. We definitely want to come again!

Wonderful accommodation with great character, just next to Rue du Paradis, nested within vineyards.

The property has the character I was looking for , tranquil, warm, big windows with good day light, in the middle of vineyards in the heart of a nice village. Plenty of character in the dining room, seating room, wonderful fireplaces in each of downstairs rooms, nice places for sitting and reading during the day, I’m sure the garden will be nice for reading during any other seasons except mid winter. The family is very nice and kind, I felt I was a part of their family during my stay, Mr. Alexander and the rest of the family looked well after me. Merci beaucoup à toutes ! ( Thank you very much!)

Fantastic sejour!

A fantastic sejour, even if just for a few days! An incredible experience in the world of wine where we were introduced with such a passion from the owner. He is a remarcable person, full of humor, a great host, such cultivate, a real encyclopedia! We had a private tour and we were explained form A to Z everything about the wine, very, very interesting.. We apreciate it even more now that we know so many details.. The man is lucky, he loves and knows what he is doing. Very nice decoration of the rooms (like in an old chateau), very tasty breakfast, very quite location. Great wines produced locally. Coming again to enjoy more of everything.:)

The place is a beautiful bourgeois house with a really cute garden. The host was really welcoming and nice and so passionate about his craft and able to do the all talk in English, which was brilliant given my fiancé does not speak fluent French yet. Will come back in a heartbeat if I can :)
