“Great budget hostel in the heart of the city with epic rooftop views”

Great little hostel in a great location! Staff were super friendly. Great common area, and epic rooftop views. You can tell the owners have travelled themselves. Great books in the common area with recommendations on Chongqing, helped me find some great local meals and all the must see spots! Highly recommend.

“Great place in Chongqing”

Very clean, friendly Staff, great kitchen, great view from the roof top

The location is spot on right in the centre of the city. Not only that but it sits on top of a high rise building on the 31st floor. There is a roof terrace as well and the price is simply unbeatable. It's also one of the cleanest hostels I've stayed at.

“Good hostel”

The staff is very nice and helpful. The location is near everything and the views from the balcony and rooftoop are great. Tea, coffee and bread are for free and they give you a complimentary beverage at their Cafe. Just note they take a deposit of 100 yuan that they will give you back in cash or app money when leaving. If this is your last stop in China that refund is not very convenient.

“Excellent except because the beds shake when someone moves”

The location is superb, the staff are amazing nice, the place was clean, bathroom available, a lot of extra things are offered: water, tea, bread, a very useful guide. The staff gave me very good ideas of things to do in Chongqing, with detailed explanation about how to go everywhere from the hostel. The hostel is very big, with various terraces and amazing views

“Basic but Well Located Backpacker Hostel”

We stayed at Only Cafe and Backpacker in Chongqing and overall had a positive experience. The location is very good, and the views from the building are amazing. The hosts were very kind and welcoming. The place has a very basic, backpacker-style setup, with shared rooms and not the most comfortable beds, so the facilities are not its strongest point. However, the great location and the friendly atmosphere make up for it. We were also invited to try a coffee at their café, Only Café, and it was a pleasant surprise — probably the best coffee we had during our trip.

Gou was awesome host to have with great recommendations. This hostel is in an awesome spot and met great people here!

The location is great. You have two metro lines five minutes away, and most places are within a 30-minute walk. The social area is nice, and I had the chance to meet some people.

What an incredible place! The staff are incredibly warm and helpful, and their detailed travel advice gave me a real insight into Chongqing. The rooftop terrace has absolutely stunning views. What really surprised me—and won me over—was the proper heating. Among the cities I’ve visited on this trip, none offered that comfort. This place is truly special. I’ll absolutely be coming back!

“Amazing”

Wow, I’m back at this hotel and—oh my gosh—they actually have real northern-style heating here! Can you believe it? I’ve never seen anything like this in southern China. It’s absolutely amazing! And the best part? It’s nothing like that dry, stuffy air conditioning. The room feels incredibly cozy and warm—so comfortable that I just want to stay in all day and forget about going out. Seriously, I’m too happy to leave! The owner has really thought of everything. How thoughtful is that? I’m totally sticking with this place from now on. This is definitely my spot!

The location is fantastic, I loved the cozy atmosphere, the shabby chick look. It’s super clean and The hostel is filled with useful stuff. But the most important is the people who run it. They are all truly wonderful, super friendly, helpful and caring. That’s what matters most.

The property was in a great locations and the rooftop is awesome. The staff were very friendly and knew a lot about the area, helping with activities and food. Would definitely recommend for those travelling solo or in small groups

The staff is amazing, they even offer you a coffee at their shop which is great! The room is spacious enough and the toilets are clean.
