Beautiful villa in a park-like environment. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast in the salon is fantastic. Alix is a great host, she recommended a truly magnificent restaurant (le Rhizome). This is our second visit, we hope to come back next year.

A very charming place and exceptional hosts! A beautiful Villa and park. The room was finely decorated and large, offering views into the lush gardens surrounded by trees. Alix’s homemade jams & breakfasts were delicious and her recommendations for restaurants and things to do the best! Merçi, Alix & Philippe!

Very welcoming host who gave very helpful advice on how we could best enjoy the area and didn't hesitate to make our visit more comfortable. The accommodation was beautiful, spacious and warm with functional fire place in the breakfast room.

The host was very kind and available throughout our (short) stay, both for guidance, adjustment of the check-in, as well as breakfast ordering and last but not least good discussion. It feels like a step back in time in this traditional bed and breakfast, yet the amenities are modern and it felt like a luxury hotel. Alix welcomed us in her home, with a traditional and historical decoration, and enlightened us with her knowledge of the place. The garden is splendid and the property is hidden from the street, with 24/7 access via the portal down the path. We stayed in the external house, built following the decoration of the villa. Full comfort! The breakfast in the dining room is excellent, yet simple. Alix was available for all our needs, and even offered delicious home made yoghurt and pain perdu. Coffee, tea, fresh croissant and bread, home made jam; France in a nutshell. Book for a longer stay if you can, we for sure will!

“Fabulous stay”

Alix was a wonderful host and nothing was too much trouble. The house is beautiful and our room was clean and spacious. As other reviewers have said, the breakfast is superb. The location is great, with lots to see and do locally - the Armistace Glade & museum is well worth a visit and Compiegne has great attractions, shops and restaurants. We travelled into Paris several times during our stay, and it was an easy journey by car or train. A fabuolus stay and we would definitely return.

Well. What can we say. What a stunning find! Sadly it was just an overnight stay but wish it had been for longer. The house is stunning and steeped in history. Very traditional French decor which was beautiful. The atmosphere in the fascinating building is very relaxed, informal and comfortable. Our host was lovely! Gave a superb recommendation for a restaurant and an explanation on the history of the property. The grounds were beautiful too and the village has historical value. We would love to return.

“The perfect escape from the city.”

The Châtelet was the perfect place to escape the busy-ness of the city. It is just one hour from Paris, but quiet, fresh, and full of kind people. It is also close to the historic town, Compiegne where offers us lots of interesting history of France. Châtelet owner was wonderful and kind with warm hospitality. Her dog was cute too.

“Peaceful island in beautiful parc!”

We came for „Masters de Feu“ in Compiègne. Perfectly located for that. The Villa is a beautiful old house in a wonderful park, you forget that there is a village around! Completely calm. We had the little side house, wish it would have been summer and could have stayed longer and sit in front of our little side house in a summer night with a glass of wine. Breakfast yummie! Anytime again!

“French road trip”

This is a beautiful house in a truly lovely setting. The drive up to the house and the surrounding gardens are gorgeous. Our host was very welcoming and gave us a really good restaurant suggestion in Compiegne which was a short drive away. There is direct access to lovely walks in the forest and our host suggested a circular route which we really enjoyed. Honesty bar was very reasonably priced, nice pool table. Thank you!

A wonderful house with a history , nestled in a park with huge old trees . We enjoyed a peaceful night in a highly comfortable bed . The rooms are beautifully and tastefully decorated . It is a perfect place to stay for a visit of Compiegne and the Surroundings, but also Paris , if you want to use the train instead of your car and then return to a quiet place in Nature for a good rest !
