Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Common areas felt homely and welcoming. We could use the bicycles for free. Great location for surfing. The host picked us up from the station and dropped us back.

“New Year's Day Sunrise Festival”

The way we were treated was wonderful, feeling immediately welcome and part of the environment. We shared stories, music, and food with the hosts, their family, and the guests. I liked that you could have a private shower and bathing experience, there were plenty of toilets, everyone was super accomodating in the kitchen, and the room was a great size. We came to watch the New Year's sunrise and were invited to participate in related events we wouldn't have known about otherwise, and given a complimentary New Year's Day traditional breakfast. We will remember the days we spent there as vividly as the people who helped shape the experience. As for the rest, there is little that hasn't been said in the other reviews. You should go here and not somewhere else if you are at all curious about the place. You will probably want to go back like me.

Lovely place!! Japanese style house run by a lovely couple and a beautiful dog. The room was very nice and comfortable. All the spaces are very clean and the kitchen has everything you need. I would have liked to stay longer but I had to continue my journey. 100% recommended if you visit Chikura ❤️

“Relaxed stay”

We had a trip with my friend from Tokyo to Chikura. We liked the guesthouse, it was simple but clean. We could have a lot of conversations with hosts, they are very friendly. Atmosphere is relaxed and has Indian vibes. Neighborhood is very quiet, and ocean is beautiful. We were lucky enough to see local summer festival.

The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful! Staying at the property feels like staying at a friend's home in Chiba. It felt very cozy, and the hosts and other guests can be very welcoming. You can go to the common space to talk to everyone, or keep to yourself if you prefer. I felt very safe as a solo female traveler as well.

Extremely lovely and hospitable hosts! Very warm and welcoming! It was easy to connect with the hosts and othee guests. They lend me their bicycle and recommended cafés and an onsen which where both great. Comfy futon, 5 minute walk from the beach. Yummy japanese breakfast.

The people that stayed there were really friendly and helpful we shared food and laughed together. We also did a little firework show on the beach which was really fun. It felt like a really big family which was wonderful. I couldn't ask for more I am really thankful and I hope to visit here again.

“Wonderful, cozy stay by the ocean.”

The location is perfect, just a few steps from the ocean, in a very quiet neighbourhood. In the common kitchen we shared food and talks about life, and in the outside space too!

The hosts, Tetsuya en Narumi, were wonderful people with kind and open hearts. Free pick up and drop off at Chikura station. Perfect location, 1 minute walk from the beach. I hope to return some time.

The pot-luck dinner with the owners and other guests was a great idea! I don't speak Japanese but they made a big effort to include me in the evening.
