“Beautiful view”

The grounds of the hotel are lovely with nice trees and plants which are well maintained. The bungalows are all arranged so you have private space outside. Ours looked onto the lake so we could watch the birds from the balcony. Breakfast was good, the highlight being the homemade bread and freshly ground coffee.

“Loved our stay”

We loved this little hotel! The location on the lake was just beautiful. Unfortunately the weather wasn't that good when we were there but the host 'Ian & his staff" made us feel at home in every way. From looking at Ian's beloved motorbike collection to his knowledge and advice on things to do & see in the local area was just fabulous 👌 Breakfast was great too...If you are looking at staying up near the Golden Triangle, look no further! You won't be disappointed with this little hidden gem...

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Viang Yonok. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel genuinely welcome. The setting is stunning — peaceful, beautifully maintained, and perfectly positioned by the lake. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and full of thoughtful touches that made our stay extra special. The hosts went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, always greeting us with warmth and kindness. The breakfast was delicious, and we had a great evening meal. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with exceptional hospitality, Viang Yonok is truly outstanding. We can’t recommend it highly enough, this was the second time we stayed here, and will definitely visit again.

Beautiful Thai style hotel, just what we were looking for, lovely staff, fabulous hosts. Really enjoyed our stay, it was close to Chiang Saen but far enough away to be very peaceful and serene. The gardens and cottages are so well maintained and the views of the lake at sunset are stunning. Thank you Ian and Jim for a great stay, we hope to return.

Quiet located at the border of the lake. Separate houses. Perfect hideaway. Owner and staff utmost friendly. Breakfast above expectation, with fresh bread baked by the owner.

“Country style getaway. Recommended”

The country style cottages have a vintage interior which makes the stay extra special. The location is excellent for birdwatching as well as visiting the Golden triangle. The breakfast is excellent and made to order. Staff and owner super friendly.

“Peace and quiet, great hosts”

I chose Viang Yonok for the location, beside Chiang Saen Lake with beautiful views and lots of birds. Having driven past it on previous visits to the area, I thought I'd give it a try. Location--wise it's fabulous. The grounds are looked after meticulously and the rooms are spacious and bright with comfortable beds and pillows, hot showers and so quiet. Ideal for chilling out and wildlife photography. Our hosts were warm and friendly and if you like old motorbikes, Ian's your man with a lovely collection of classic BSAs. The open restaurant is really nice with a choice of breakfasts. They even bought me marmalade when they found out it was my preference. So far so good. The only thing we found was that the time for the evening meal was a bit restrictive and one night when we returned at 7.30pm, the staff had gone home. Not a problem as there's an excellent Thai restaurant a few minutes drive away. But maybe bear that in mind. There was only us staying but apparently if it's full, the staff stay longer. Also, if all you drink is a small bottle of beer, I'd let them know in advance as all they had were big bottles. They did go out and buy small bottles for me when I asked. So all in all it is a great place to stay, well recommended. 😀

breakfast was excellant with some healthy choices. loation by the lake was excellant nice and quiet area,, no traffic noise day or night like many others i came to the area for bird watching and this is the perfect place to stay, a little bit more expensive than some places in chiang saen town, but well worth a little bit extra for the convenience, birds right outside your door

“Heaven”

A lovely hotel. The gardens lush and full of birdsong. Staff were more like family and couldn't do more to make your stay perfect. We stayed 3 nights and the meals were excellent each night. I slept so well and toured all the country locations surrounding the hotel

Lovely Lanna style room overlooking the lake. The hosts were lovely and cooked us some great food. Beds were very comfortable and the area was very peaceful but within easy reaching distance of the town. The gifts as we left were a lovely gesture too...as were the hugs! 😃

Wunderful Lodge at beautiful location at the Chiang Saen lake. Delicious dinner prepared especially for us as we were the only guests that evening. We loved biking along the lake watching the birds and enjoyed the beautiful sunset at the lake.

This resort is a little heaven corner in a stunning area.

“Immaculate and quiet resort with nice pool and great staff.”

Immaculate little resort next to a nature reserve, about 10min by car from Chiang Saen / Golden Triangle. Super friendly and helpful owners and staff. Restaurant with decent breakfast offers, excellent cooking for dinner. Nice pool area. Bungalows have a small elevated terrace for some privacy. Perfect for those who want to stay outside the city in the nature or for a stop over on a motorbike trip.

“Privacy, secluded & lovely!”

This lovely place has been the highlight of my trip. It's really tranquil and very clean, neat, and tidy. The setting is amazing! The hosts and staff are great. I would love to get back there.

“The place for a nice relax near the golden triangle”

Very nice place in front of the lake! Good family with help you and nice atmosphere with a lot of beautiful animals .. The owner has a super nice collection of old motorcycle ... we very liked this place to stay some days and relax

All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. My food was cooked to order (it was the wet season).great location overlooking a lake in a tranquil setting. A chalet with a great deal of local character.

the entire place and Staff were fabulous. AND the owner provided an awesome tour of his private Museum ! Room was superb. Beds very comfortable. MUCH attention to detail was in abundance throughout the room.

Lovely location overlooking the lake - very peaceful with only the sounds of the vast array of wild birds including a couple of resident peacocks ! Breakfast was just right with freshly made bread and slightly herbed scrambled eggs - Staff service and friendliness was exceptional
