Perfect location for an overnight stop south but l’Ancre Vive is much more than that. It is a much loved, historic home, run by people who truly love it and who have impeccable taste and serve the best breakfast ever. Dominique is also just charming and so easy to talk to. Beautiful house and grounds, the hosts were so nice, warm and helpful, the room was perfect and very spacious and we really enjoyed the breakfast. Really authentic experience and it was an ideal stop off point for heading from Paris to the south.

“A very restful stop over in a chateau with a lot of rustic charm.”
Quaint and charming, the chateau appeared to be undergoing restoration and they have some lovely plans for it. The property has immense potential and is a work in progress but the rooms are lovely and we would happily visit again. We look forward to seeing how it develops. The proprietors are so very welcoming.

An exceptionally friendly host who introduced to everything - the house, the history, the idea behind the place etc. Breakfast was outstanding prepared from the bottom with local ingredienses and all homemade. It was a treat beyond belief and we will surely return to this pearl of a place in France
