“Beautiful suite with a sea view”

We had the pleasure of staying in the Honeymoon Suite with internal balcony and sea view. The room is truly unique, full of charm, and offers a superb view of the sea. The lighting system is interesting and allows for different atmospheres, which we really enjoyed. The shower cabin is spectacular, the bed is very comfortable, and the small mezzanine offers a beautiful plunging view over the sea. The bathroom also has a double sink, which is very convenient. The air conditioning is quite well designed, with three outlets: one in the ceiling above the mezzanine and two more standard wall-mounted units. The terrace is also lovely for breakfast, and the hotel’s location is perfect, right in the heart of Chania.

Wonderful boutique hotel with superb views. The beds are super comfy and the staff could not be more helpful and generous! The breakfast is delicious and the views of the harbour are superb. Our room also had amazing high Venetian ceilings- beautiful. Highly recommend!

“An Exceptional Stay in Chania”

We spent 14 days at the Domus Renier and have nothing but glowing things to say. The hotel is a 17th-century Venetian palazzo, fully renovated but with great love for the original architecture and its details. Modern comfort and old-world charm - here, the two genuinely work in perfect harmony. The location in the heart of the old town, with rooms overlooking the historic harbour, the old lighthouse, and the sea, is simply unbeatable. What stays with us even more, however, is the staff. Everyone was consistently warm and welcoming, from reception over kitchen staff to the room maids - and that held true every single day across two full weeks, without exception. Special mention goes to the breakfast host: each morning we were greeted so genuinely and warmly that the day could only go from one highlight to the next. Breakfast itself, by the way, is served à la carte - something we greatly appreciated and hadn't expected at all. The quality is exceptionally high. The banana bread with espresso butter was arguably the best thing we ate during our entire 14-day stay - and that's saying something, given that Crete is generally a culinary treasure. Over warm conversations at breakfast, we also learned a great deal about Cretan culture and received wonderful tips for our day trips into the western half of the island. Saying goodbye was hard. What a beautiful experience to stay in this very lovely waterfront boutique hotel located in a gorgeous building in the Venetian Harbor, and with an absolutely wonderful staff who really make you feel at home. The service is above and beyond in this lovely place, the breakfast is amazing, prepared by incredible chef, Maria, and the views from the (very large, and beautifully equipped) rooms are a dream!

Beautiful building in a great location - the old Venetian royal residence, set back just behind the seafront. Quick and easy access to the Old Town and harbour. The room was lovely - tasteful decor, comfortable bed, great shower, plenty of space and storage. Breakfast also excellent - choice from a menu, with a mix of Cretan/Greek options and the more usual cooked suspects. Most of the pastries etc. were homemade - you could tell from the taste. Staff were incredibly helpful and nothing was any trouble. They had great recommendations for Chania and Crete more widely. All in all, a really memorable stay and not particularly expensive.

This is a gem of a hotel, nestled right in the heart of the old port above eateries with access through the front restaurant or the rear. Breakfast is served from a menu with great options to choose from and is just perfect.
