The views were breath taking.

Loved the serenity. We stayed in the little cottage below the house. Beautifully finished and so peaceful. The cottage was exactly what we were hoping for.

“Birdsong Cottages– Peaceful, Spacious, and Scenic”

We had a lovely stay at Birdsong Cottages. The view from the property is absolutely breathtaking—rolling hills, open skies, and a sense of stillness that makes you immediately feel relaxed. The house itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with what we needed for a peaceful break. There was more than enough room to stretch out and unwind, and the atmosphere was calm and welcoming. A perfect spot for anyone wanting to recharge in nature, without giving up most of the comforts of home!

The location of the area is amazing, and you are literally in the mountains. It was exceptionally beautiful and very peaceful and relaxing. Just the entrance of the property has a bit of a bump that could be smoothed out for a small type of sedan car but if you drove carefully and slowly it was fine. Driving towards the Drakensburg roads are a bit rough with lots of potholes, and you would need to drive in day light coming from Gauteng, so you can spot the potholes or dips on the side of the road. The are plenty of activities around you that you can do and various hiking trials from a safe area in Cowl - Heritage site where you can park your car, are provided with a map indicating the various routes, distance and time expectancy. There is a security and staff in that area. So you don't leave your car anywhere Randon which was nice from a Security perspective, and they have a evacuation team on standby if anything should happen.

Lovely cottage and the additional freestanding cottage was a sweet surprise. The unit is well equipped and cosy. The beds were very comfortable, and there were plenty of warm blankets. The fireplace warmed the units up in no time.

The highlight of the accommodation is definitely the view from deck, it is breathtaking, the accommodation itself is spacious and caters to all your needs.

Great location in the Berg with fantastic views. Lovely deck looking out over the valley with enough seating for the 8 of us. Place was clean, all the furniture/beds very comfortable and all the appliances/utensils you need.

It is a lovely place with the most beautiful views. Calm and peaceful. Will definitely visit again.
