Stunningly beautiful property, and the most amazing host ever. Gael's guided tour is a must-do, and he shares so wonderfully the heritage of the property and the region which just makes you appreciate everything you see 10x more. This has been one of the most memorable places we have stayed in!

We stayed at Château des Grotteaux from June 20 to 21 and it was, without exaggeration, one of the most exceptional experiences we’ve ever had in a hotel. From the moment we booked until the very last goodbye, everything was carried out with such attention to detail and genuine hospitality that it felt like perfection from beginning to end – something we had never experienced in this way before. The entire property is enchanting: the stunning château, the beautifully maintained pool, the thoughtfully designed tennis court – everywhere you look, you feel the presence of someone who is truly passionate about hospitality and excellence. The price-performance ratio is simply outstanding for what is offered. What impressed us most was the atmosphere of serenity and peace throughout the estate. It’s an oasis of calm and elegance. Gaël, the owner, welcomed us with warmth, ease, and true generosity. His charm and natural sense of hosting left a lasting impression on us. As a final touch, the personalized thank-you note we received after our stay was the icing on the cake – a small gesture that perfectly reflected the care and dedication behind everything at Grotteaux. This is a hidden gem in the heart of France – a small paradise that we will definitely return to. Once you’ve been here, you’ll want to come back.

My first stay in a castle was full of delights! The staff were incredibly welcoming, sharing the castle’s history and guiding us through all the public rooms. The biggest surprises were encountering Giovanni’s paintings and spotting a replica fireplace from Chambord Castle. Our room had excellent natural light and ventilation, and the entire castle smelled of warm frankincense and sandalwood. The breakfast was outstanding, with a wide variety of options. The goat cheese paired with orange zest jam was delicious, and their honey is a must-try—highly recommended! Plus, the castle’s location is ideal, just a short distance from Blois and Chambord Castle. Dining options nearby are convenient, and you can even book ahead for a Michelin-starred meal.

We have visited many castles, but this was the first time we slept in one. This has been an exceptionally pleasant stay for us in an exceptionally beautiful castle. Chateau des Grotteaux has a rich history and has been extremely well kept. The rooms are impressive, clean, and comfortable. The acqueil has been warm and personal. This castle was a wonderful find for us and we’re already looking forward to our next stay there.

Beautiful property… great hosts … only 5 bedrooms .. with use of the rooms downstairs.. so feels like you have the place to yourself , the swimming pool was absolutely beautiful .. the area stunning .. would definitely recommend:)

Beautiful, peaceful place with very friendly and accommodating staff. The location is lovely, with Chambord and the interesting town of Blois, with good restaurants, close by.

Enchanting, exclusive structure with a warm homely feel - while steel maintaining the elegant atmosphere of a Chateaux. It feels like a cuddle! The owner Gael, and the staff are all very kind and helpful. Breakfast is delicious, and don’t miss the quiet pool spot for some relaxing time.

What a place ! The river setting is idyllic and serene, and offers an almost private experience in your own Chateau. Decor is very tasteful period yet with a modern twist. Quite a remarkable history and story of renovation by Gaele and his family who are quite charming and offer plenty of fascinating stories about the past and present life of the Chateau and surrounding area.
