“Great rest stop for support crew of the VVX!”
I booked this hotel as a midway point for the VVX 224km race as I was supporting some runners. I had no idea when I would be able to check in but the staff were able to accommodate my late check in request if I needed it. Bed was incredibly cosy and I felt well rested for the remainder of the race! Wish I could have stayed longer to check out the area. I’ll definitely be back here if I am the support crew again!

“Brilliant place, we loved it!”
Great value hotel with fabulous management and staff! Highly recommended stay and including the delightful menu in the evening with regional dishes full of very local ingredients. A perfect spot just a few steps away from the edge of the lake; an hour’s beautiful walk around with interesting views of the hills as the light changes. The owners are gradually doing the place up, including adding chalets in the garden behind the property. A great find!

“Good location for a walking break.”
Great location. We had dinner at the hotel on 2 evenings and thought the quality of food was excellent for a 2 star hotel. They also provided us with picnic lunch one day, which was plentiful. Staff were really helpful and welcoming.

“Great stay, food delicious”
Staff friendly, they gave us garage key so we could lock our motor bikes away. Had evening meal which was delicious. Breakfast was adequate.

“Lovely staff, good food, great spot!”
The food in their restaurant is really good - creative and very tasty, and they have a good wine list. The rooms are a little old but well maintained, and look out towards the lake, thought not across the road from the lake.

“Good hotel in a great location.”
The Grillon hotel is a good family hotel with large rooms, very clean and comfortable. There are several car parks available. It is very quiet inside and outside. The location is great: a couple of minutes from the lake or to go hiking.

The staff were very warm and welcoming and helpful. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and offered enough choice. For dinner we took up the offer of the daily set menu which was home cooked, well presented and of high quality! Great value for the price. It was an added bonus that the staff could communicate in English for us.
