“When we arrived,about 17.00 hour, the hotel was closed. We must phoned the owner .”

“Terrible.”
We paid for the room, breakfast and evening meal when we arrived. We were strongly ‘encouraged’ to choose and pay for supper at the establishment on the grounds that we’d have a generous discount (which turned out to be 2 euros off a 15.50 euro meal). We then went out for a walk. When we came back an hour later, we were told we couldn’t have the room anymore as they’d given it to someone staying 3 nights! We were left at 8pm on a Friday evening with no accommodation (or supper). Everywhere was booked out by that time. We had to drive over an hour to the nearest big town (Perigueux) to stay in an Ibis - neatest place we could find with vacancies. No apologies or compensation were offered.

“Brief visit, did not get in to the room I booked because nobody was there!”
Nothing, I booked this place through booking.com and when I turned up it was closed up. I tried the contact number provided but it just went to voicemail. I did not get in in the end. Looked nice from the front tho. Almost ended up sleeping on the sofa they have out front. But decided to camp instead. Was a nightmare tho
