Great location, really nice ambience at the hotel, there is a lovely shop selling local produce and a cafe.

“Overall cheap but for a reason”

Poor communication- we were not informed that breakfast is not available on sundays. When we went to get breakfast we were then locked out (at 8am) There was rarely someone at reception. We were given a WhatsApp number but no one answered. Very loud both from the square and from within the hotel itself. The hotel was playing loud music right outside our room. No privacy- windows looking onto the stairs with transparent curtains (lace curtains). One night the hotel set up a table for people to have dinner right outside our window, they could clearly see in. Our room also had a hole in the floorboards right next to the bed.

“Beautiful colonial era hotel in the heart of Chachapoyas”

A beautiful and original hotel with a beautiful courtyard that takes you back to colonial era Peru. The rooms are very spacious and the shower (requires some fiddling) runs hot. The staff are friendly and do what they can to help.

The location is perfect! Being right on the main square so you are ready to book your tours or find a place to eat very easily. But the pictures show the hotel in a better state than it is now. The hotel is very 'tired' at the moment. There is renovations occurring right now, i am not sure how long they will be going on but i hope the end result is what is depicted in the photos because it could be a very cute and cosy colonial hotel. I did have a couple of issues while there and the staff really did try to be helpful although it was a bit slower than i was comfortable with, but in the end they took on board my feedback and it was a pleasant stay. The fact they had a desk in the room was a main reason of my choice to stay here as i had to work while i was staying. The wifi was fine for my working hours, including video calls. Overall, it was pleasant, cosy and did the job of a place to stay after a long day out on the tours.

The property was under renovation and the rooms are a bit tired and in need of attention. I expect it will be a nicer place once the work is finished. Good value and location though and we had no issues during our stay.

“Amazing hotel is centre of chachapoyas”

We loved our stay here! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, they gave us loads of tips for where to go for the festival. The room was basic but comfortable (one downstairs). Breakfast was good and cannot beat the location- in Plaza de armas!

The hotel is situated right at the main plaza of the town. It's a beautiful colonial building. The staff is very helpful and amicable. The rooms are cozy and clean. The price-quality ratio is fantastic!

I was working remotely from a bedroom with a balcony giving onto the main square which provided a nice view and light. I did not use the WIFI during the evenings but during the day it was strong enough for me to have three-person video calls. The receptionists took their time in answering my hundreds of questions: they gave me great advice on how to get to some points of interests independently rather than trying to sell me tour packages with their affiliated agency. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the breakfast as I was always leaving before it was served, however they were nice enough to remove it from my total price for the night.
