“Lovely hotel”

Its a stunning hotel, recently refurbished to a great standard. Rooms are nice and everywhere is very clean. Lovely outside space and grounds with a great swimming pool. Great parking with easy approach from the road.

The hotel manager, Nadia, who was a true professional. Nothing was too much. She provided a high standard of service. On arrival, she told us a little about the history of the Chateau and treated us to a cocktail on the house. The room was Spanish themed, well designed and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was to die for.. double basins and a spectacular shower. Lovely grounds with a swimming pool. Also the opportunity to take a short walk through woodland.

“Beautiful hotel in a lovely location with comfortable rooms”

Beautiful old chateau tastefully modernised inside. The room was quite spacious and comfortable. We were welcomed with a local cocktail including chestnut syrup. The manager was working alone on our arrival but managed to juggle everything well considering she hadn’t been working there very long. She seemed passionate about the story of the chateau. They don’t have a restaurant to serve dinner so we had lunch en route and were able to have a charcuterie sharing platter in the evening. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was great with a fantastic walk-in shower. They had USB ports which was great.

We had a rough journey, getting here had been so stressful, that was all forgotten. The people here went way above and beyond to help us unwind. Beautiful spot. Gorgeous room. Terrific.

“A hotel with a luxury feel about it.”

The owner was lovely and spoke excellent English. She had just finished renovating the chateau. The modern decor was beautiful. There were lovely gardens with a great swimming pool. The breakfast was excellent and massages were available though we didn’t have one.

“A perfect retreat in the Dordogne”

We loved everything! We chose the Zen room which was wonderfully large with all the furnishings you might need. There was a desk, a bench, loads of pillows and cushions. and I loved the low armchairs, the perfect height for bending over to tie your shoes. The huge, round bathroom was really special, I loved the idea of it being in the tower. There was so much care and thought to the comfort of guests, every little thing was available. The grounds are so peaceful, it’s a real escape. But still close enough to everywhere for taking in the sights. The best of all was Laurie, the manager. She was always available, made us feel superbly pampered, she worked so hard to ensure we didn’t want for anything. The email she sent me on arrival was invaluable with information and tips on the area - what to see, where to eat, and so on. We loved the Dordogne and if we come back, we’d love to stay here again!

Beautiful spot and very nice hotel. With only 8 rooms, massive attention from friendly staff. Awesome restaurants in the neighborhood.

“Exceptional”

The property and its grounds were stunning. The attention to detail and personalisation was outstanding. The manager of the hotel gave us a tour of the building and grounds with information about its history which was really interesting and added a special touch. We were welcomed with exceptional service (and a complimentary arrival drink) and genuinely felt like nothing was too much for the staff. The room was decorated to perfection and had everything you’d think of needing. You have personal use of the spa area by giving a little notice which is something we’ve never had before. The grounds, decor, staff and breakfast were all perfect and genuinely can’t be faulted. We can’t wait to stay again in summer!

“Fabulous experience in charming chateau in beautiful Dordogne.”

Beautiful location and converted chateau. Lori the housekeeper/concierge was excellent and as an ex English teacher spoke perfect English! She was very helpful with suggestions for trips, castles and restaurants. Spotlessly clean great breakfast and even spa facilities, which were used as it rained all of our time there. The proprietor was also great finding the best breakfast bacon and suggesting trips, which included a visit to Domme a beautiful local village.

“Absolutely fabulous and amazing”

It was fabulous Lori the hotel manager was outstanding she showed us round told us all the history about the chateau she booked us the most amazing meal at a fabulous restaurant and even drove us there and picked us up Breakfast lady was amazing It is just the most beautiful and magical place and we will definitely visit again I would recommend any one to visit and stay there it was amazing.

“Top quality stay in a beautiful chateau”

The interior of the Chateau was spotlessly clean and modern. The hotel manager spoke flawless English and was ready to answer any requests we had, and to arrange dinner reservations for us. Everything in the place was of top quality. We were told that renovations had been done less than a year previously. The manager greeted us personally upon arrival, gave us a tour of the key features of the house and grounds, and a brief history of the place. She then provided complimentary beverages to enjoy, followed by showing us our room and it's features. We were treated like nobility, everything was first class!

The chateau is wonderful and peaceful, and the staff is attentive and helpful. A true gem!

“A truly fabulous stay”

The sheer quality of everything from facilities to the perfect hosts of Thierry and Ann-Marie sum up Chateau de Maraval. The room was superb and we loved the soft walk in shower tray. The spa was was fun and the breakfast was excellent. The common rooms for guests were stylish and comfortable.

Host was very helpful; we arrived late and he immediately phones local restaurants to find a table for that evening. All facilities are of a very high standard. Breakfast excellent, spa and pool facilities are also very good. Location is very central for exploring the Dordogne Valley.
