Lucilla was a marvellous host. The property consists of three beautifully refurbished and modernised rooms in an old building with an old fashioned elevator to get to the fifth floor location. Breakfast was excellent and room was perfectly clean and comfortable. Located about 800 metres from the town centre and about 500 metres from train station. Perfect

“Enjoyable”

We really enjoyed our 3 nights. Lucilla was fabulous and looked after us from start to finish. The room was nice and comfortable. The location is handy for the station and the bus station. We used it as a base to go to Taormina on one day and Syracuse the second. The Alibus from the airport drop off is a short walk away at the Central Station and to get the Alibus back to the airport the stop is just round the corner in Via Vittorio Emanuel’s II.

Lucilla is a wonderful host, she took great care of everything, the room was very clean and tidy, and the location was great because it was literally in the city center.

This B&B is located in a historic building, but there is an elevator, so there is no need to worry about luggage. It is very close to the railway station and can be reached on foot, which is convenient to go to the surrounding towns. The room is clean and tidy, the space is large, and the public area is decorated in a tasteful style. The host is warm and kind, patient and meticulous, and has free drinks and snacks all day long. The breakfast is also carefully selected by the host and very careful. If you come to Catania, this accommodation will be a wise choice.

We had a spacious, light and comfortable room in the B&B Oriental Palace, very clean, and our host was very helpful, offering light breakfast provisions in a dining room despite not having breakfast included in our booking. The lift was a definite bonus for us. While not a very attractive immediate area, the proximity to Catania bus and train stations made this B&B a very convenient location and it was only around 10 minutes or less walk to the central area around Teatro Bellini. We only stayed 1 night but would have happily stayed longer if our itinerary had permitted.

There had been a misunderstanding about the booking. Which, Lucia, the host, promptly resolved. Lucia was both helpful and informative. The room was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and in a fabulous location. I would highly recommend a stay here.

It was close to the Alibus 14 bus stop. (Or stop 3 and cross the road) The warmth and hospitality of the host The breakfast was superb Once inside the apartment it was beautifully furnished, spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. There are great eateries near the Duomo The historic centre is a short walk and easy to locate. A new eatery has opened on the ground floor of the building

Fabulous, spacious, well maintained, well furnished, fantastic Baroque building, great architecture, brilliantly convenient for city and just 10 minutes walk into the Piazza Duomo and historic Catania. Lucilla( host) is an absolute joy and it’s a pity we had to leave, could have easily stayed another week. Nothing was too difficult for her. She’s simply amazing and charming as well. I would absolutely recommend this establishment either for a long stay or short, you’ll not be disappointed. ( check out the panini place outside in the piazza. They family who run this place are amazing ( food and drink, cheaper than in the city centre and exceptional quality and price).

We liked all about the property and particularly appreciated the kindness of the hostess.

Lucilla was an excellent hostess. Extremely welcoming and helpful. We would highly recommend it. We even had a view of Etna from our little balcony in a very old historical building that is nicely decorated. The room was very clean and airy and the shower was great. Lucilla asked what type of breakfast we wanted and went out of her way to make it traditional and nice for us. We had arrived earlier than she expected, but she could not have been nicer about that. The hotel is about half way between the railway station and the cathedral - both within easy walking distance so is ideally situated. Busy-ish road outside, but very well soundproofed and the air con worked well. Catania is a lovely town and if we ever go back it will mean staying at the Oriental with Lucilla.

Warm and friendly welcome. Fantastic value. Only stayed one night, due to excellent location for railway and airport, but would recommend for longer stays, as it is superbly located for everything in the city.

The host Lucilla was really lovely, explaining how everything worked, especially using the various keys to open the many doors, plus directions to the Alibus stop. As we had to leave before breakfast she prepared a takeaway breakfast for us, which was kind of her. There was serve yourself tea, coffee and biscuits available at all times in the breakfast room.

B&B Oriental Palace was the perfect place for us to stay during our trip to Catania. The location is great, the room very spacious and clean, and Lucilla was a wonderful and generous host. We did not pay for breakfast as we decided we would go to cafes instead, however Lucilla offered for us to use the breakfast room to make tea and coffee and have some light breakfast anyway. She also let us use the fridge in the breakfast room and gave us some local recommendations of things to see and places to eat. Just a heads up that there are many instructions and doors to go through to access the B&B (there is a lift too), however Lucilla gave us all the instructions we needed to check-in and also spoke to us on the phone for extra help if we needed it. We would stay again!
