The place was beyond what I was expecting. The location was perfect, a short and easy, direct stroll to the heart of Castlemaine, while nestled on the edge of the bush and a short walk to the Goldfields walking tracks. So quiet and exceptional service and style. Irma has lovely style and the place has been so tastefully set up that it was a pleasure to stay - I am only sorry that my visit was so short. It is somewhere I would absolutely recommend to friends and family. 10/10 in every sense. Irma and Oliver was such lovely, kind genuine people, who truly went above and beyond for me during my stay.

it is a lovely, quiet location and a beautiful house. The owners are friendly including Pinot the dog and I really enjoyed my stay.

Lilydale Lodge is an immaculately restored and gracious farmhouse. Set just outside of Castlemaine’s busy centre in a beautifully quiet location, it is a place where you can catch your breath. Please do not let the shared bathroom put you off - we did not once encounter the other guests staying there. There are 2 toilets which very adequately cater for the small number of guests that the Lodge hosts. The hosts Irma and Oliver (and perky Pinot) were lovely, the bed very comfortable and the facilities excellent.

I left early for work. Lodge was not far to travel to work. Room was inviting, silent and very comfortable. Kettle for coffee / tea in room. Large mirrow to check dress for the day. Plugs for phn. Soft night light was welcomed.

Terrible communication. To be told 30 minutes before check in time that we can't stay because of a double booking is unacceptable. When asked to contact us when they found alternative accommodation (which the provider and Booking.com are required to do) we got no contact and ended up having to organise ourselves instead of enjoying our wedding day.

Spacious, pretty room with view onto back garden. Quiet house with welcoming owners who let guests use communal sitting room and kitchen. Would happily stay there any time I visit Castlemaine.

The accommodation offered was very European style. Host was polite and welcoming however all doors were closed giving a feeling of distance and the stated shared area also was closed off as the Host was showing us to our room. A request to share some kitchen facilities was met with a hesitant yes and there was no TV, radio or tissues in the room.

The house is beautiful and conveniently located close to town. Irma and Oliver were so lovely to pick us up from the train station and also drive us to the mill market and show us all the extras the town has to offer. We really appreciate the personal attention you gave us.
