Everything ! Great house in a super location. A charming host who was very knowledgeable about the history of the house and local area. He was very welcoming and approachable, making us feel welcome and comfortable.

The gite was in a perfect location, just steps away from Cassel Centre. The gite slept 6, we were only 2, so we had lots of room. It was very comfortable, including the beds. There was plenty of on street parking.

The location was perfect, just a few yards from the Grand Place - exactly where we wanted to be. There was free parking right outside the property as well. This meant that the shops were very close by and we had a choice of restaurants in the evening. Jean-Louis made contact before our arrival and could not have been more helpful, some gifts on arrival were very welcome! The Gite was very well equipped and had everything we needed. If we return to Cassel, this would be my first choice of places to stay.

Met by the owner Jean-Louis who was super helpful and friendly. Took the time to explain the property, Cassel and local attractions. He took the trouble to ask if everything was OK. The property is a well maintained and tastefully restored 3 bedroom house located in a fantastic position in Cassel. Will definitely return if visiting this region of France in the future.

The property is in an ideal location within a minutes walk of the village shops and restaurants. There is parking outside of the property or across the road. The property was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Jean-Louis is a wonderful host, he was very friendly and helpful. Thanks for the gifts of beer, cider and biscuits Jean Louis.

Great location. It was within a short walk of the Grand Place with shops, cafés and restaurants. The house is in a quiet road with free parking nearby. The house was clean, comfortable and well equipped. We were greeted by our hosts who were very friendly and helpful.

“A Brilliant Few Days in French Flanders”

The house is immaculate and we received a very friendly welcome from the owner Jean -Louis who ran through the workings of the house with us. The welcome gift of local produce was a nice touch and well received and tasty. The bedrooms are furnished delightfully and the beds are very comfortable. Everything you need for your stay is available including wifi. Location wise it couldnt be bettered as the house is next door to the impressive Notre Dame de la Crypte Eglise which is definitely worth a visit. All the restaurants, bars and shops on the Grand Place are seconds away. Cassel itself is a lovely village that has an abundance of great restaurants and bars and I would recommend to visit as many as possible. I can highly recommend the Estaminet Kasteelhof. The Musee de Flandre was another bonus with paintings dating back to the 16th century, the colour and detail of these painting that are over 500 years old is breathtaking. There is also a Rubens on display as well as a fine collection of other Flemish painters work. We will definitely return in the near future

We liked that we were in the centre and could walk to the restaurant where we had a party as well as all amenities. Also, the size of the house was great and we were able to be together as 2 couples and the kids had their own bedroom. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, they waited for us on arrival and came to meet us on departure and they are clearly knowledgeable and in love with Cassel.
