The host had went over and above with the nicest touches throughout all the rooms. The photos don’t do the house justice it was fab. I was with a group of girls and I will return with the family as there was also so much for them!

Martina was a fantastic host. She was very responsive to queries, accommodating to an early check in and very friendly. The house was immaculate and lots of little touches for the perfect getaway. Would be back for a visit for sure!

The house was spotless and so roomy. Set in the countryside it was so peaceful but still close to carlingford. The gift hamper was a lovely touch. Martina was a great host before during and after our stay, keeping in contact and making sure that everything was OK for us

The location was excellent and well served by Martin's taxis who were able to accommodate a group of 6. We enjoyed the peaceful setting of the house, 5 km from Carlingford itself. We walked to the local pub Lily Finnegan's too. Martina, the host was lovely and we were given advance directions and helpful information. There was a welcome pack of goodies too on arrival. Martina was very accommodating re check in and check out times. We loved the spacious house with 3 dbl rooms with bathrooms. Ideal for a family group or large group of friends. Lovely quiet location too.

We had a fantastic one-night stay in Granda's House during the Easter holidays; I was disappointed we didn't stay longer. The house was very clean, warm and comfortable with two sitting rooms and a large kitchen that also has a sofa in it. The house has everything you need for a short or long stay and there is wifi throughout the house. This was our first time away with our small dog and by closing the gate we had a fully enclosed outside area and garden the dog could safely run around in. As previous reviews have said, Carlingford is 5 minutes away and there are two beaches close to the house; the closest beach is a 15 minute walk along a relatively quiet road, the other is less than 10 minutes drive. There is also a pub, Lily Finnegans, about 10 minutes walk. There is ample parking space for several cars and outside the house. Martina is lovely and a superb host, she met us on arrival and departure and had left food, milk (and Easter eggs!) which was a nice touch given how short a time we were staying. She also provided a great information pack listing local places to eat and visit. I would thoroughly recommend Granda's House and hope to return for a longer stay soon.

Excellent facilities. Martina is a perfect host and made our weekend wonderful. Granda-s house has everything you could need including a wonderful welcoming hamper and many wee treats placed throughout the house. Caters for all age groups with lovely spacious rooms. Can't recommend it enough and will definitely use it again when we return to Carlingford.

Location was great. Just a 5 min drive from Carlingford. Martina emailed shortly after booking with tips and things to do in Carlingford. She also contacted us during our stay to ensure everything was going well. Simple touches like shampoo and shower gel in case you forgot to bring some. And condiments in the kitchen of things that you wouldn't even think to bring. A welcome hamper on arrival and games and puzzles to keep the kids entertained in case it rained. We were lucky with the weather and managed to sit outside in the sunshine on garden chairs provided. Plenty of parking and ample space for kids to run around and play football / basketball outside. You could light a fire if u wanted. We didn't need to as we were lucky with the weather.

“A home away from home”

The house was very big and cosy, we each had our own room and we were able to lite the fire at night which was a lovely touch. Martina met us with a lovely welcome hamper and made us feel at home, I would highly recommended Grandas house

After booking the house, I got an email from Martina giving us lots of information about the area, things to do, places to visit and places to eat & drink, this was brilliant so we used this to plan what we were going to do while in the area. Martina, met us at the house with keys and showed us around and explained how heating worked etc.. She left a fabulous welcome hamper for us. House is really like a home away from home, so big in space and spotless clean. The 4 bedrooms are comfortable and warm. We were a group of 6 friends looking for a night away and the house was ideal for us, would definitely recommend this house whether you are a group of friends or family looking to get away as this house is in a perfect location and definitely a home from home as they house has everything you need.

Fantastic place to stay

“Gorgeous property.”

Martina met us on arrival, she showed us around her gorgeous property. The house is even nicer than pictured, a huge space with a lovely furnished garden!! Some lovely added touches like a gift basket made our stay even more enjoyable. The house is completely kitted out from plenty of towels to lots of crockery.
