THE BIG is a newly renovated Luxury Hostel in Green Point, Cape Town and is the first of its kind. THE BIG offers its guests the best of two worlds – the style, service and cleanliness of a guest house/hotel, with the amazing social aspect of a hostel at competitive rates. Everyone that leaves THE BIG is sad to go. THE BIG is all about creating a space that acts as a "home away from home" All of our rooms are unique in style, shapes & have been newly renovated & styled by fabulous interior decorators. They all have bathrooms, are serviced daily with clean towels and linen provided. THE BIG has an inverted hence load shedding doesn't affect THE BIG. Free parking is available, a tour desk can help to organise any day excursions and an airport shuttle at a charge. THE BIG is centrally located just a 5 minutes' walk to V&A Waterfront and Sea Point Promenade, The BIG offers a choice of modern private room or dormitory room accommodation. It features a pool, braai facilities and free Wi-Fi and a free breakfast.

“Nice place in the city”
A nice hotel in the city, with a good location and atmosphere. My room was nice, and everything was perfect. The staff was very friendly and always helpful. A continental breakfast is included in the price. The entire stay was great.

“Great place to stay”
Perfect stay, beds are super comfy, staff is SO NICE and super helpful, lots of uber in the zone if you need to move, breakfast is so good (the bread is delicious), honestly it’s a great place to stay and we’re looking forward to coming back

“Best Cape Town stay”
This is one of the best accommodations we’ve stayed at in almost decade of traveling. The staff were so helpful and friendly, constantly making our stay feel like home. The shared social areas are amazing. Breakfast is great. There’s a pool, multiple kitchens and lounge areas, refrigerators for guests. Everything you could need to feel comfortable. The location is very central and convenient. Free parking. We would stay here again any time we visited Cape Town.

“Great stay at The BIG”
Fantastic stay at The Big in Green Point. Great location in a centrally-located-but-not-hectic and safe neighbourhood with lots of cafes nearby. Incredible team of staff (e.g. Chantelle, Joceline, John plus the rest) - super fun, kind, helpful and enthusiastic; they watch out for you. Beautiful interiors including the common areas and bedroom, homely vibe, very clean including the bathrooms, and a simple breakfast included. Quiet and calm. Would recommend and return in the future.

“Amazing hospitality”
Amazing staff, perfect vibes, everything is so special in BIG! A BIG family that makes you feel part of the tribe from the first moment. We loved the easiness, chillness, friendly and smiling people, help and support with everything, even organising a birthday surprise for my friend during the braai weekly dinner. The cosy rooms, good and comfortable beds, ,the safe location, the communal kitchen and spaces, the cleaningness of all facilities. Just perfect! Would live to come back!

Very cute hostel. The rooms are beautiful and the bed very comfy. The staff is amazing and the breakfast delicious. You have everything you need, hairdryer at the reception, parking, honesty bar, pool towels etc. Also the location was great.

“Great original place in CT.”
A great, uniquely run place in the center of Cape Town. By definition, a place dedicated to young people, but our 50-60-year-old group felt great there. A good breakfast in a family atmosphere, and the staff are very friendly.

Very nicely setup accommodations with a very friendly and helpful staff. Our room was comfortable with a small bathroom. Lots of communal space to spend time either alone or with other guests.

Family Room with Balcony
THE FRIENDS & FAMILY UNIT consists of two separate rooms connected by a shared balcony overlooking the pool area. Each room can be booked individually or together as a private Friends & Family Unit. Please note that unless the full Friends & Family Unit is booked together, booking one room does not include access to the second room, as they are separate accommodation spaces sharing only the balcony area. Both rooms feature air conditioning, smart TVs, and can be configured with either 2 single beds or 1 king-size bed. The unit includes 1 en-suite private bathroom and 1 detached private bathroom.
Budget Double Room
THE TINY ROOM is an upstairs room & is outside the main building, it is en-suite, has a smart TV, a fan and has ONLY A DOUBLE SIZE bed which is smaller than a queen size bed. As per its name, it is a very small room.
Budget Double or Twin Room
This twin/double room is comprised of a TV with streaming services and a private bathroom.
Economy Double or Twin Room
THE ROOM WITH THE BATHROOM DOWN THE HALL is a ground floor room, it is known to be a very loud room! It is NOT en-suite, as per its name it has a detached bathroom which is down the hall from the bedroom; it has a smartTV, a fan, the room comes with 2 single beds or 1 king size bed. Please note that if you are a light sleeper this is not a suitable room for you.
Standard Double or Twin Room
There are several standard rooms at the backpackers, they are all cozy in size, are en-suite, have a fan, a smartTV, fast & secure wifi with a choice of 1 king size or 2 single beds.
Superior Double or Twin Room
The backpackers has several aircon rooms, they are all fitted with a smartTV, fast & secure wifi, are all ensuite, with a choice of 1 king size or 2 single beds.
