“Spotless 'modern antique' charme guesthouse and wonderfully attentive hosts.”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Redbourne Hilldrop Guesthouse. It was an absolute pleasure meeting and chatting daily with Sharon and Jonny, the owners who live downstairs. They are incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready with helpful advice or assistance for anything we needed. Our bedroom and shower room were spacious, beautifully decorated in a chic 'modern antique' style, and spotlessly clean. Breakfast each morning was delicious—the omelette was a standout favorite! The only minor suggestion we’d offer for longer stays is to introduce a little daily variety to the menu, perhaps rotating in items like muffins or cake on different mornings. Combined with the stunning views over the City Bowl, it was an unforgettable experience. If we return to Cape Town, we will definitely stay here again!

The property was clean, well-maintained, and ideally located in a quiet area. The room was comfortable and nicely presented, creating a relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of options, and the hosts were warm and welcoming, ensuring a very pleasant stay.

Room very comfortable, great view, very good breakfast, and a place with a soul ;) Sharon and Jonny are wonderful hosts, very helpful and full of good advice for places to visit, restaurants, ... actually Sharon did even offer to book the restaurant for us the first day. And for the story, we almost felt victim of a parking scam: some guys invented a story explaining that we needed to pay parking on sunday whereas Sharon told us that it was free. In doubt we called them for advice, Jonny came to help in just a few minutes, this was really very kind of him.

We loved absolutely everything! If it were possible we’d give 12 out of 10. Sharon and Johnny were the most welcoming hosts, so warmhearted, we felt immediately „at home“. We loved our room, the pool, the neighborhood,the cozy evenings with a glass of wine, the amazing breakfast with a view - the whole guesthouse vibe was just superb! And I couldn’t have wished for a better stay over birthday :) Dear Sharon & Johnny, thank you so much for those wonderful days 🫶🏼

I had a fantastic stay. Jonny and Sharon are wonderful hosts - very friendly, great personalities and very supportive (also after my actual stay). Breakfast was very lekker with individual wishes. Thank you so much for everything, I will come back.

Sharon and Johnny were exceptional hosts. Our flight landed early in the morning but we were warmly encouraged to come straightaway and as our room was free could access it there and then which was so welcome. Breakfast was delicious with a wide choice and it was so lovely to sit looking out over Cape Town as we ate. Car parking in the street was a bonus. We really appreciated the calm of the residential area and the wonderful views over the city in one direction and Table mountain in the other.

Sharon and Jonny are brilliant hosts. The breakfast is very nice and you can enjoy it with an amazing view! From the pool you can see Table Mountain and you basically relax on the slopes of it! Can highly recommend to stay there and can’t wait to come back!

The owners are very friendly and genuinely try to accommodate their guests, and they also provide many helpful tips and suggestions for your stay. Breakfast is excellent and very typical for South Africa, starting with fresh fruit followed by eggs prepared in any style you like. The quality of the food is high, and the view during breakfast is a real highlight. The house itself is located in a quiet and pleasant neighbourhood.

We had a flying visit at the guesthouse as our flight was so early the next day . Our hosts very very friendly and helpful . Excellent restaurant recommendation in Camps Bay . The guest house has fabulous views under Table mountain and overlooking the whole city and waterfront from breakfast room. Nice spacious room with huge bed
