The location is perfect to visit the Cano Negro reserve. The staff were extremly friendly and the foodwas delicious at everymeal.

“Tranquil and close to nature”

If you’re thinking of going to Caño Negro, do it! It has been one of our highlights and brilliant to get away from the tourist crowds and be close to nature for a couple of nights. Natural Lodge was a peaceful haven, with only the sounds of nature to wake up to. The hotel staff were all lovely and very helpful. The food was excellent, with the restaurant overlooking the gardens. The pool was relaxing.

Nice modern lodges next to good common area with bar and restaurant. Good food if a little expensive. Excellent helpful staff. Chef does a mean hot sauce.

The garden with feeders attracting all kinds of special birds. The excellent staff always giving good advice and birding tips and suggestions. The superb morning bird watching boat excursions with great guide and boatsman. The food and thd amazing way thd kitchen staff is preparing dishes with local flavor. So highly recommended!!

I think this is the best hotel you can hope for in Cano Negro because of it's remote location. It was the most expensive hotel we booked during our 3.5 week trip in Costa Rica, more than 200 euros per night (room with 2 double beds, 2 adults and 2 children). The restaurant area is very stylish, airy ambience and the bird feeders are amazing, attracting all kinds of birds. Our kids also enjoyed the swimming pool. There were some spider monkeys in the trees nearby. Breakfast was nice, a la carte style with 4 options, I really liked the gallo pinto and asked for a second serving, which the chef prepared for me. Refill of coffee from the friendly staff. If you want to try something outside of the hotel for lunch/dinner, restaurant Fogon is a good option at walking distance of the hotel, the food was very good there and prices normal for CR, about 5000 colones for a casado if I remember correctly.

“A fine lodge with lovely grounds and good tours.”

The monkeys in the trees, the birds at the feeder, the soft music, the staff, the food, the grounds. The friendly dog was a bonus.

The facility is so great, lovely garden and a nice pool area. We got great support from the reception to book tours. The staff are very friendly and professional. The food is excellent, the chef is very professional. The whole facility was very clean. The manager and his family are very welcoming. We highly recommend this place.

“A remote and nice stay in the middle of nature”

Caño Negro is remote and the road is not too great but the lodge is a quiet place surrounded by beautiful nature. The place is very nice and spacious. The room is a bit outdated but looks clean. Some of the staff is not very experienced in how to put the customer on #1 but they are really friendly.

Quiet, room besides forest, lot's of birds, monkeys, deers. Lovely trails. A very short walk, the Rio Frio is bustling with birds, caymans and other animals.

This is a lovely lodge in a beautiful setting. The staff are all very friendly and go out of their way to help. The food is exceptionally good and also very good value for money. After a month of travelling in Costa Rica, I would say it was probably the best food we had the whole trip. ¹
