“Nature pure, great staff and apartment. Highly recommend”

Fantastic location in the jungle and wild life. The staff is super friendly and helpful. You need a car to make it easier to get to. No 4x4 required. The natural pool is awesome. It is all pure nature. Specious apartment with kitchen. Great fresh beast in the morning. Stayed for 3 nights. Easy to get to all the places around it. Again you need a car.

“Cool experience, but go with the right expectations”

This place is very unique and nothing like anywhere we ever stayed before. Especially if you book the room with the jungle views, it’s pretty incredible. Beds were quite comfy and the best part was the jungle shower! Extremely clean room. Very modern and stylish room, and the natural pool was very enjoyable. Jess gave us a super warm welcome and was incredibly helpful throughout our stay!

This was a real authentic communitary-style accomodation isolated from a relatively touristic coast region. The term Ecolodge is no exageration, we were in the middle of the jungle and the lodge staff hold dear to the ecologic values. They also cook homemade breakfast and diners, very ellaborate and different everytime. They are genuinely caring and welcoming, shout-out to Anna on site who is extremely nice. If you are looking for an authentic and friendly community vibe, do not hesitate and book at La Shamana.

Lovely place right in the jungle. Very comfortable bed and great shower. A good chance to see wildlife as it is very peaceful.

“Peaceful and best food”

We had a fantastic time here. The place is peaceful and so beautiful! We were in the chalet “experiencia” where it feels like you’re sleeping in the forest but you’re protected inside (lot of monkeys in the forest 😍)! Best breakfast we had in a long time! Everything is homemade, organic, healthy and also it varies each morning. Betty and Jessica are the best, it was a 5star service, they are extremely helpful and nice. They offer multiple services: laundry, massages, guide, a cook that comes over prepare your dinner, etc. We asked to have dinner there, a very kind lady came over and cooked a fantastic dinner. It is very well located not even 5min from Cahuita. Thank you Betty and Jessica, for sure we will come back.

“A wonderful, unique experience.”

It is a paradise in the middle of pristine forest. It is an experience like no other. It is easy to go to town and return with Uber. What a special place! So so beautiful. And the cats are just adorable.

Stunning location and accommodation was beautifully designed and very comfortable. The view was unbelievable. My gluten free diet was understood and our breakfasts were delicious.

“Lovely place”

This is a correction of an earlier review, which for some reason picked up my unfavourable review of another establishment PLEASE ignore the previous one, which hopefully will have dropped off. I stayed three nights. The Ecolodge is about 2 miles outside Cahuita, the last half mile unpaved. You can get there with 2WD but may be more comfortable with 4WD, if only for clearance. The Ecolodge consists of a central reception/breakfast/dining room, with numerous nearby cabins. Although conveniently close to Cahuita, it is elevated and truly in the depths of the rain-forest, supplemented by careful planting to generate a delightful, colourful surround. The view from my balcony was idyllic, and the sound of the howler monkeys when they passed unforgettable; as was lying in bed listening to a tropical thunderstorm. The spring-fed natural swimming pool is a delight, especialy after a sweaty day exploring Cahuita. It is a lodge, not a hotel, so there is no restaurant. Breakfast is delicious, and cooked hot on an individual basis; and dinner is available if you warn them in the morning or the night before. Staff attend as required, but the owner/manager lives on site and is always available (via WhatApp if she is in town). They were very helpful, arranging massages and an excellent English-speaking and knowledgable guide. The room itself was clean and spacious, with a good shower.

The breakfast was great. The owner/sister also cooked me a great dinner..IWas impressed. I was the only one there for dinner and we had a great conversation ..i had owned a hotel in a special place and was fascinated that she ran this place..you gotta go to understand

“Jungle expérience”

It was realy Nice staying in La Shamana. Near by Cahuita and about 15km near Puerto Viejo, you are realy in nature, in the morning you wake up whit the noice off the monkeys.... Just awesom... Thanks to the host For the care... Good Luck for the future...
