“Truly one of kind unique stay”

This place has stolen our hearts. We couldn’t be more thankful and happy with our stay here, best in our 3,5 weeks in Costa Rica! The nicest owners who put their heart, soul and much effort in this lovely ecolodge with lots of attention for the wildlife welfare. Our tent by the beach was lovely. (It’s one of the nicest beaches we saw and we were there all alone!) Sunrises and sunsets there were amazing. We saw all four monkeys species each day, macaws flew over our heads and we saw lots of other wildlife too: truly unique being so close to nature and wildlife. This is not just a nice place to stay, it’s a whole experience beyond compare. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!! Thank you for having us, we will be cherishing our stay there forever and will be back.

“Lovely location and facilities but overall disappointed”

The location is absolutely stunning right by the beach and the lodges/tents are basic but have the essentials. They stay dry throughout heavy rain are nicely decorated and each have electricity but no Wi-Fi or phone signal this is available in the communal areas though, there is no hot water and the shower is more of a high up tap, each lodge/tent has a toilet but it is open to the outdoors and bugs.

Beautiful quiet and special place, for nature lovers! Was hard for us to leave... Silvina and Dario were so helpful, the place is full of animals all around, beautiful private beach to watch the sunrise, shared new and well-equiped open kitchen where you can cook your own meals. No A/C (its an Ecoodge) but a nice breeze from the sea.

Silvina is an excellent host, very helpful and responsive. We had a marvellous time and saw so much wildlife during our stay! The off-grid experience was far more immersive than a hotel, and we slept very well in the comfortable beds, with the sounds of waves to lull us to sleep, and monkeys to wake us up!

“Tranquility”

Our stay at Four Monkeys was a beautiful experience. With Golfo Dulce as its playground, this place offers a stunning natural setting with a peaceful beach, perfect for swimming and relaxing. From the very first moment, I felt a deep sense of calm throughout the entire property. For me, silence is a luxury, and here I experienced several moments of pure joy, surrounded only by the sounds of the forest, animals, and waves. I also appreciated their deep connection with nature and respect for local wildlife, which is evident in how seamlessly the space blends with its surroundings. The bungalows are another highlight. You can choose to leave the curtains open and enjoy almost a 180-degree view of the beach and the surrounding forest. This was one of my favorite aspects, as it allows you to feel even more connected to nature, waking up to the sunrise and falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean and wildlife. The hosts are incredibly kind. Every detail is carefully thought out, from the organization of the spaces to the beautiful open kitchen, which is not only functional but also a visual delight. Highly recommended for anyone looking to disconnect for a while!

“A real sense of what the Osa peninsula is about. Stay longer and relax.”

Four Monkeys is a unique place to stay: as soon as you walk in there is a real sense of being within the jungle and a part of what makes the Osa peninsula so special. It's also situated by a beautiful wild beach with lots of birdlife to watch. Although a car makes life easy (20-30 mins drive south of Puerto Jimenez), once you're there you can just chill out and enjoy the immediate surroundings. Bring a few food supplies and live simply for little while. A new communal kitchen/ relaxation area and a yoga shala were in the final stages of completion when we were there. In the meantime you can use the host's kitchen to prepare meals and chat to fellow guests. It's relaxed. Our (really comfortable) bungalow was at the front and we woke up to sunrise and the sounds of animals and birds starting their day. The hosts were friendly and very helpful - and this became crucial as we had a medical emergency. Silvina was able to arrange an appointment with the local GP at short notice - for which we are so grateful. We had to curtail our stay and return to San José - but have resolved to return just as soon as we can.

“¡Maravilloso! Host really cares for the environment and her guests”

Silvina is so sweet and she cares so much about creating a special experience for guests. Four Monkeys is relatively new, so the rooms are super clean, and the mattresses and very comfy. It's definitely a step above glamping (feels more like a hotel room than a tent) but still open-air. Sunrises from the room are amazing. I really recommend it for nature lovers. We did an amazing tour with corcovadotours.com and they picked us up right at Four Monkeys. The beach is basically private and great for a swim once (just be careful with the rocks). There are also two clean breaks for surfing on either side of the lodge here and boards for rent. Silvina is doing a lot of work to actively improve the space and is eager to help make her guests' experience memorable. She made a delicious breakfast for us too w/ eggs and fresh fruit from the garden. I will definitely come back when in Osa again. Oh yea and the doggies on premise are awesome.

Simple, really like camping in the jungle. Great location for what we wanted between jungle & beach. Very very helpful host, brilliant communication! Helped me with things (like tour advice) other than accommodation once booked. Very grateful & kind of them! If you enjoy company & want a warm welcome it’s perfect!

“Holiday in paradise”

If you love animals and like to be surrounded by nature, then this is the best place to be. While we were there we saw hummingbirds, macaws, toucans, halloween crab and two different types of monkeys. All of them in the garden of the property. The plants and trees attract the animals. The hosts are very friendly and gave good advice about things that can be done nearby (e.g. horseback riding). Their 3 dogs and 2 cats are adorable. We miss this place already. Be aware that you are in a less-developed area of Costa Rica with limited options of restaurants.

The cabins / tents in the jungle make it amazing! We saw several types of monkeys , the macaws and toucans! Walked to a great waterfall. We enjoyed the hosts very much and the friendly cats and dogs made a most memorable experience. Thank you very much!!
