“We were scammed and probably escaped harm by luck.”

This is an abandoned property used to scam tourist; the house is uninhabited for who knows how long. We arrived at the property around 11pm on 22nd August 2025, only to discover the house advertised we paid in full including additional €800 collected by the purported owner as caution deposit in case of any damages, excitedly looking forward to a wonderful time, is actually an abandoned property. Beautiful photos displayed on Ad on Booking.com are not identical to current state of the house. We contacted the advertiser multiples times both through mobile number provided on the Ad, WhatsApp and Booking.com but he will not respond. Wooden frames in the property were already eaten up by insects with dust falling out as a result, cobwebs everywhere, kitchen sink dried up with rusty marks showing is unoccupied for a long while, dusty books littered, the front door is so bad that if closed with a little force or slammed by mistake could fall, dusty sofa in the living room covered with dirty moldy sheet is not the beautiful sofa displayed on the Ad, oven in the kitchen had remnants of dried-up food perhaps from last time the house was occupied. I do not want to talk about the bedrooms with patched hole, bathroom or dining area. We have 3 little kids, ages 6, 8 and 9 years who were terrified, we had to roam searching everywhere within 30km redux until 3am when we managed to get alternative accommodation, as the house is uninhabited for who knows how long, bushy & dirty with spider weds all round, the property is basically infested with insects and other animals attracted by mold and dirt. Grass is not even cut. some windows were open, 1 room was locked and marked with inscription private, whereas the Ad indicated we would have the entire house to ourselves, this looked creepy and scary for my family.
