Overview
Located in the Anjou area of the Loire Valley, a 5-minute drive from the village of Brion, this 16th-century estate offers an outdoor swimming pool. Guests who bring their own bikes we provide a secure shelter. With a view of the surrounding gardens, guest rooms have a rustic décor with wooden beams and exposed stone walls. They each have a private entrance and are equipped with a flat-screen TV and seating area. Homemade, organic food is served for breakfast each morning at the B&B. For guests wishing to prepare their own meals a communal kitchen with a fridge, microwave and hotplates is available. The nearest restaurant is located 7 km away. With free parking on site, the B&B is located 15.5 km from Baugé and 25 km from Saumur. Guests can visit the wine villages of Bourgueil and Chinon, which are a 25-minute drive away.

“Peaceful paradise”
Everything: the tranquility (it’s so peaceful); the setting; the location; the breakfast (all local organic produce, homemade bread and pastries by Gilles); the facilities (the pool is superb); the hosts (Gilles and Patricia are the most welcoming, warm and wonderful people); the ethos (everything is organic and green) - it’s a genuine paradise in the heart of France!

“Exceptional”
La Chouanniere exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home and relaxed. The hosts, Giles and Patricia, gave us the warmest of welcomes and showed us around the property. Our room was wonderful - it had retained its beautiful original features but also tastefully incorporated the modern facilities, thus ensuring a comfortable stay. The attention to detail in the room was excellent. The private garden area at the back was lovely to relax in with sun loungers and an eating area.The room and grounds were very clean, and the courtyard was magnificent with all the flowers. The pool area was a generous size, chlorine free, and it was the perfect temperature for us. It was lovely to have a refreshing swim after a day touring the region.The breakfast in the morning was superb, and all local and organic produce. Giles made fresh bread every morning and lovely french toast. There are a number of restaurants within a short drive, and the surrounding area is very scenic. I would highly recommend a stay here!

“Wonderful, friendly and definitely stay again,”
Wonderful surroundings, greeted by wonderful hosts. Breakfast of home made bread and confitures were excellent. The room had everything we wanted and our own private terrace and a complimentary glass of local rose was the ticket after a long drive in a hot car. Thank you.

Gilles and Patricia are wonderful hosts. The gite is created with great attention to detail, very clean and quiet. The breakfast is phenomenal with regional and homemade products. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for this great stay!
