“Lovely hosts, friendly dog and a well presented property”

Initially this was not the easiest property to find as we were not expecting it to be at the top of a very steep winding single track road which was not obvious from looking on Google maps. However, once we arrived we were greeted by Eric who whilst he could not speak English (and we could not speak enough French) used a Translation app on his mobile phone to communicate which worked well whenever we needed to learn something about the property. The Gite itself was very well decorated and spacious with a large concrete terrace and path which led down to the swimming pool, bar and petanque piste. There are two bedrooms but as there was only 2 of us we used the main bedroom which was large enough with plenty of wardrobe space and a comfy bed. The kitchen was well appointed with the shower room off one end. A toilet was on the 1st floor landing next to the main bedroom. Akila the other owner came to introduce herself on the Sunday as she was working when we arrived on the Saturday. Both Eric and Akila were exceptional hosts who made us feel very welcome and who lived in a home just down the hill by the swimming pool and despite the language barrier we enjoyed using the phone app to communicate. Eric and Akila's Jack Russell Fox Terrier called Sally who would come and visit us if we were home and was extremely calm and friendly. In fact my wife is not keen on dogs but loved Sally. The property has great views across Brignoles and the Mountains to the rear. There were plenty of sights to see in the area and vineyards selling there produce direct to the public. The beach at Hyeres was approximately 45 minutes drive.
