“A very nice place to stay”

We had a very nice time staying here. The hosts were friendly and very helpful which we very much appreciated. The room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed.

Very cosy home. The owners are so so welcoming and friendly, made us feel like home. We travelled for a wedding so they accommodated us with our late night returns and afternoon coffee when it was needed 🤭

A beautiful house, with a delightful courtyard. It was very hot when we arrived, but the house remained cool, despite no AC. The courtyard was delightful and we had dinner and breakfast there, as it was very warm. Wonderful host, Giles. A really funny and welcoming guy!

It is a beautiful house and I had an excellent meal.

The place is very outdated. That in itself is not a big problem. The main problem here is that the (shared!) bathroom has a lot of fungus in the shower. That is a health threat and it's quite easy get rid of, but in accordance with the general impression, no effort is being taken to reach a certain minimum standard. Room is very dark. One bigger lamp but that lamp is flashing like a lighthouse. Taps in the bathroom sinks will make you soaking wet when you fully open them. The host does not flush the toilet after use and does not close the toilet door. Door of the room doesn't close properly and vibrates when somebody passes by. No secured parking. Booking.com should not list rooms that are a health threat.

It was my own fault, I should have checked, but I was disappointed at first not to have en-suite facilities and in view of this the price seemed somewhat high. On the other hand, I had no problem gaining access to the facilities and I doubt I shall encounter a grander bathroom this side of the Baths of Caracalla in Rome. My welcome here was warm and courteous. My evening meal, which I had booked in advance was excellent and so too was the breakfast.
