“5-star property, but a 3-star stay”
We had 2 rooms, a triple and a double, during our 10-day stay, and they were both beautiful, but the double was small and the shower leaked (water collected on the floor after each use). Also, the lack of air conditioning was very hard to take. It got very hot, and we couldn't open the windows even at night to cool down the rooms because there were no mosquito nets on the windows (in a house that sits in the middle of nothing but trees...) and a large population of insects buzzing outside. On two nights we couldn't sleep at all - just sat in our beds sweating. It was quite unpleasant. The grounds are impressive, large and manicured, but they are completely unlit at night and impossible to navigate. Breakfast is good, but lacks variety (the exact same things are served every day). Dinner was nice while the cook was there, but after the first two nights he disappeared, and dinner became a buffet of breakfast leftovers, meat, and a few other items. Grilled meat, always on offer, tasted of cooking fluid (lucky for our dog, who didn't mind). We ended up going out for dinner, and it was better. The Czech diet is not to our taste, but we did manage to find a few places that were adequate. On the plus side, fresh coffee capsules and 2 small bottles of water were provided every day. There are enough plugs in the room to cope with all one’s devices.

“Perfect escape just an hour from Prague city center.”
Really lovely converted villa in the Czech forest. The surroundings were so pleasant. It was nice to be able to get into the woods with an early morning dog walk literally in the backyard. So many wonderful woods and hills also nearby! The staff were gracious and welcoming, and the food was excellent, local and top quality.
