“A good place to go to use as a base but not to stay and relax when there is building works going on”
The place was a building site there was building materials everywhere and for a place that is dog friendly it was unsafe for dogs The lighting outside was non existent so you could see what you were doing on arrival Some of the facilities were a little basic

We feel very disappointed. We rented cottage number 86, and on the day of arrival, I was informed that we would be staying in cottage number 80. It turned out that the cottage was dirty. There were tons of mouse droppings in the bed and on the bedpost. We reported this and were given another cottage number 84 which was also dirty. I asked for different bedding and towels. Unfortunately, the bedding provided was also dirty. When I mentioned that this cottage was also dirty, the owner told me I was rude and that I could call Booking.com and report the problem. My partner went to buy bedding and towels so we could stay, and I had to clean the bathroom. We do not recommend this place to anyone and strongly advise against renting any cottage in this location.

This was the perfect base for us to explore the beaches of Dunkirk and to revisit the somme memorials on VE 80 day. Belgium is a short drive away so this for an economical Base to explore is perfect.
