“I need to come back as soon as I can :)”

What a beautiful surprise! I found this hotel when looking at an escape from Switzerland on August 1st due to the fireworks and my dogs being scared. The most beautiful family running the hotel and restaurant would do anything to make you feel comfortable and happy. The room had a beautiful view of the mountains and valley below, it was very clean and I'd say quite well sound proof, which is nice when you're travelling with dogs so they don't hear every single noise from outside. The window had a sturdy mosquito net which is a very good touch. It's also very quiet, I slept with the window open all night and there wasn't a single sound... just nature. Don't get me started on dinner... I had the "rognons de veau" and they were so good. The lady kept reminding me that if I wanted more there would be more, but I ended up finishing the ones from the table next to me (in Australia they nicknamed me "bin chicken", because I always eat scraps from others). The wines are also really good, and their sorbetto was also outstanding. The couple at the table next to mine told me about their mussels soup (as well as everything else really), but this needs to be reserved in advance, so it's good to know for next time :). This is one of those places that warms your hearth, so in the end it's not about the location, the room, the food... to me there was just the right feeling that made me feel at home. It was like visiting family, even though I didn't know the people. Beautiful hikes and bike rides possible around the place. There's also an electric car charger (I found that out in the morning, next time I'll probably use it). It's close to Colmar, the Route du Vins and other beautiful spots. I will definitely be back! Some people in the reviews wrote about being scared of the two dogs...

Location, Location, Location…. absolutely stunning, surrounded by mountains and forests. The Route Forestiere was good fun too! Staff was welcoming and very friendly, they did their best with English and we did our best with French :-) Our room was quiet and spacious, perhaps a bit dated but that’s part of the character in this property. There was plenty of free parking spaces available, we enjoyed breakfast which consisted of one large slice of cooked ham, one slice of cheese, one pain au chocolat, bread, a yogurt, coffee and orange juice, all of good quality.

Due to traffic problems in Italy and Switserland , we arrived very late (past 21), but nevertheless the owner was very helpfull and served us a warm meal , which we appreciated a lot. The comfort of the room was basic , but good enough for 1 night.

Friendly people and nice environment!

Everything. Is these types of very authentic places that are these days difficult to find. We will surely come back again
