We enjoyed our 1 night stay, the location is a work in progress, but a work of love.

The location is something special! The castle is being renovated and on arrival we were shown some of the parts that still need to be completed, including parts of the towers that date bake to the 1300s. The room had its own bath and shower but for the toilet we needed to go to the stairwell. Not a real problem, we will just call it part of the character of the stay. The art around the building as well as the hunting trophies going back to the 1800s in the stairwell adds a lot of character and I guess feel of a bygone era. The stairs were not too steep to walk up, even with luggage. We travelled with a dog (and were not the only ones at that time). The dog enjoyed the field and park-like surroundings.

We will stay again - this type of project needs support to ensure preservation of its history

The property is incredible. Lot's of history and numerous historical pieces on show for you to view and explore at you leisure. The bedroom was clean and the bedding was new and comfortable. We were greeted by Joseph, who explained a bit about the Château and the ongoing renovation project he is overseeing. We were unaware that 50% of the Château is under renovation. Whilst this does not effect the bedrooms the dining room, kitchen and communal areas were not as clean as we would have hoped. Given the Château's locality to Calais, just over an hour, it has the potential to have considerable repeat business, which would support the wider project. It just needs support from holiday markers, but this will only happen if some thought is given to cleanliness and wider presentation - it could be the place to stay.

One of the oldest and most charismatic places we have ever stayed in.

Staying in a beautiful Castle built between the 13th and 16th Century was amazing! It felt like staying in a museum, with incredible artefacts all around the castle to look at. The setting was stunning and we absolutely loved it. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to ensure I could eat breakfast, as a coeliac this was great. They were also very happy for our puppy to stay, with no extra charge.

Extraordinary experience

Unforgettable experience of staying in a real castle with antique setting. Very friendly host, Vincent, who gave us a tour and explained some facts behind the castle’s renovation. We truly enjoyed our stay and it felt like something out of ordinary.
