Overview
Álfheimar Hotel is situated on a farm in the fishing village of Borgarfjördur Eystri, 71 km from Egilsstadir. It offers free Wi-Fi and rooms in 3 different buildings with large beds and private bathrooms. Some have sea views. Álfheimar’s restaurant uses ingredients supplied by local fishermen and farmers. we really loved our stay here. the place is a bit dated and the facilities are quite simple, but it has a certain charm - and everything was exceptionally clean. the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Very clean - good mattresses - very good breakfast with oatmeal, fruit, pancakes and boiled eggs - very helpful guests. If everyone is respectful, then the thin walls will not be a problem. Good value for your money, considering the remote location. This part of Iceland is full of wonders. Worth your while!

The location is very unique and beautiful, a long drive to get there but it was worth it for exploring the east fjords, breakfast was nice and the room was quiet and comfortable. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

“Perfect spot for Puffin Watching”
The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was big and clean, bed was very comfy, curtains against the midnight sun, toiletries (well, one soap for hands/body/hair :D ) were provided, the water in the shower was hot, breakfast was good as well, it was very quiet at night, perfect location to go Puffin watching (10 minute drive - the staff will give you hints on when to see them best!)!

“Comfortable stay, easy to find, and great location near puffin viewing”
Chosen for great location near puffin viewing. Unlike many places, did not have difficulty finding it. Good size room, and did have wifi. Inside entrance very close to the restaurant.
