I recently stayed at this property and regret to report a very disappointing experience. Despite multiple attempts, the host, Heidi, was consistently unresponsive to phone calls, offering limited communication via text only.The property itself presented numerous issues: 1. Lack of Ventilation and Cooling: The house was uncomfortably hot, with only one fan provided for the entire space. This made our stay particularly challenging during warmer days. 2. Window and Flyscreen Issues: Several windows either could not be opened or lacked flyscreens. Some flyscreens that were present had holes, making it impossible to ventilate the house without letting insects in. 3. Balcony Unusable in Rain: The balcony, which could have been a pleasant feature, was marred by multiple leaking spots, rendering it unusable during rainy conditions. The most distressing issue, however, was the presence of bed bugs. On the first night, I noticed bites which I initially assumed were from mosquitoes. However, by the third night, it became evident that these were bed bug bites, confirmed by their distinct pattern and my subsequent physical reactions. Despite reporting this serious concern to the host, the response was dismissive and unhelpful. There was a refusal to acknowledge the possibility of bed bugs, even though I woke up with bites over several days and noticed small blood dots on the sheets. The property's condition, combined with the host's lack of responsiveness and unwillingness to address serious concerns, made for an extremely unpleasant stay. I strongly advise potential guests to reconsider booking this property until these significant issues are resolved. For the price paid and the expectations set, this experience was far below acceptable standards.

The property had a restful feel and the house was cool inside. The hosts ensured the kitchen and bathrooms had all the essentials ( including batteries & fly spray) with the laundry room cupboard offering unexpected extras like Christmas decorations.

The House of Friends lived up to its name; it was very homely & well appointed. Clean & comfortable. Set in lovely bush land.

Very quiet location. Easy check in process. Loved having an extra toilet. Heating was fabulous. Outdoor area was wonderful. Beds were comfortable. Dog friendly. Kitchen was well equipped.

House was a great size for our family and the heating was warm and cosy.

“Family Holiday”

We enjoyed the cosy gas fire and the kitchen facilities had all we needed to cook up family meals. Unfortunately the oven door was broken but luckily there was a BBQ to cook with. The beds were warm and cosy and there was plenty of hot water for showers. We had fun around the fire pit however there was no wood so we had to buy some. The location was great, nice and quiet.

Lovely quiet bush location near Blackheath, and not hard to find. Homely, tasteful welcoming place. Heating was great for the cold weather. Good kitchen facilities to cook for five people. I missed a colander or sieve though.

Cosy house with all of the comforts of home. Located in a quiet street, the backyard was perfect for the kids to run around in. The multiple fire pits were perfect for roasting marshmallows at the end of the day.
