“Room was fine, Front desk was kind, but service beyone that in the bar and at breakfast was a bad.”
We had dinner at the bar. Ordering was difficult - menu was just in Dutch/Flemish. Then when we ordered it took forever to get our drinks - then when ordering our dinner, it took even longer. More than 2 hours for drinks and dinner. And the dinner wasn't great. Overall the bar service was unfriendly, took forever, wasn't generally good food and was expensive. Overall, that part of the visit was not good. Also, strangely, at breakfast there was a sign saying that if the guests took more than two items from the breakfast buffet they would be charged take away charges for the items. Candidly, this smack of cheapness and lack of customer service. Yes, some customers may be cheeky, but it just made me feel like I was being watched and monitored by staff as to what I was eating - also wondered if my bag would be checked when I left. Made me feel like a child about to be chastized. Awful .

“Wonderful hotel in a beautiful location.”
The hotel is peaceful & in a very beautiful location surrounded by orchards & next door to a castle. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated & had tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom was also a good size. The hotel bar was great & the staff throughout the hotel friendly & helpful. Breakfast was very good & they were very generous with the gluten-free bread options. I’d definitely stay here again.

“Wonderful staff, beautiful hotel, Joke on reception was incredible!!”
Breakfast had a great variety - if I wasn't working I would have had a glass of fizz Didnt use the spa as didnt have time Restaurant was fully booked so we ate in the bar, which is lovely but was disappointed that our second night (due to flight cancellation) on sunday wasnt open neither was the bar - so had to eat out Joke on reception was absolutely amazing - she was able to arrange a further night stay for us due to our flights being cancelled and when the bar was closed, was able to arrange drinks for us - she is a credit to Martins!
