Found along Route 1, this modern property is 30 minutes’ drive from Borgarnes. Facilities include the 9-hole Gianni Golf Course. All rooms have a satellite TV and free WiFi. Hótel Bifröst is set in a small university town. Its bright and spacious rooms offer private bathrooms and views of the surrounding lava fields and mountains. “We were redirected to another hotel as the restaurant was not open for dinner, so cannot say much”
Cannot really say somethign about thi shotel as when we arrived we learned that new owners had just taken it over and therefore the restaurant is not open for dinner. But had the option to move to another hotel (Vesterlands in Borgenes) which belongs to the same company. We choose to do so and this hotel was really nice, good breakfast and enough free parking spaces

“Perfect stop between Reykjavik and Akureyri”
Great stop for our trip to North , the 3 mins drive waterfall was amazing. Rooms as spacious and stuff very friendly.

“Beds were very comfortable. Perfect temp. In rooms and the food was great. Spa was also a huge perk”
Bifrost was in sad state which got the original rating from us re: expectation, but the new owners just took over 2days prior and moved us to their other hotel 20min down the road and it was exceptional. The kindness to go out of their way to offer us the same rate for such a wonderful space was amazing. Highly recommend and would return especially under this new ownership

Very friendly welcome despite us arriving late, spacious clean room, good breakfast. The owner very kindly let me practice my pigeon Icelandic on her and was super helpful in showing us the safest route for our onward journey. Good location to break up a long drive around the country.

We liked the free parking, the twin room size with private bathroom. Quiet and clean place. Wifi was excellent. Good breakfast buffet. Coffee maker & kettle in the room. Friendly staff. Easy and quick check-in/check out. Location was perfect for us on our way back from Westland to Reykjavík. The mini fridge in the room allowed us to store our food. Elevator to reach the 4th floor.

“A calm, comfortable base that did exactly what we needed.”
A smooth, fuss-free stay. Check-in was simple, the room was clean and comfortable, and everything worked as expected. Exactly what you want when you’ve been on the road all day. We were only there for one night, so didn't really have a choice to explore the other amenities the hotel offered.

Everything was fine, the best breakfast we've had in Iceland. A fridge and electric keetle in the room were great to have.
