Beautiful stay near the sand dune

This place is so beautiful. The garden created such relaxing atmosphere. The playground was the highlight for our kids. The bed was comfortable and we got an additional mattress too. The staff was really helpful. There was quite a space in the back yard to hang our laundry. We drove to the nearby sand dune in the evening. The view was fantastic and there was enough sand for the kids.

Excellent location on the edge of the desert. Superb and friendly owner and staff. Achmed, the owner, helped us out when we got stuck in tbe sand upon arrival. At night he gave a free tour into the desert, including a small campfire. Next morning he arranged a cameltour and gave us a daylight tour with his 4WD.

A nice place to stay at the edge of the desert

Our family enjoyed staying at Almorouj farm. We found the accommodation very comfortable. It was clean and well designed. It was one of our favorite accommodations in Oman because of this. There's a shared kitchen if you want to cook and there are many restaurants in Bidiyah. It gets dark early, though, and there are no lights on the dirt road, so it's more of an effort to get to restaurants in the evening. We ended up eating some food we brought with us for dinner. In order to get there, don't rely on Google maps directions as you'll end up on the wrong road. Instead use the Google maps satellite view and work out a way to the accommodation by spotting the dirt tracks in the sand from highway 23. If you do this, you should not get lost.

Avoid this place at all costs and stay in Bidayh instead. I don't understand how they got such good reviews. Upon our arrival, no one knew we were arriving. There was only one Indian man who knew nothing and had no idea about service. He wouldn't accept any of our credit cards so we ended up having to drive to a nearby village late at night to exchange. We were naturally stuck in the desert sand, but got free when a local pickup truck helped us. He also helped us back to the pension. Without his help, it would have been a night in the car. When we came back, still without cash, then suddenly we could pay with creditcards. You can't get here in a normal car, you have to have a 4x4, even if the owner claims otherwise. The breakfast was a joke, for 13 Rials you get some day-old chapatis and some dahl. Only when the Indian guy could see our disappointment could we still get a cup of coffee and an omelette. Maybe we were very unlucky, but there was no service AT ALL. Very different from the rest of our holiday in Oman, which otherwise has the nicest and most attentive population we have met on our many travels. But at Almorouj Farm inn you had to ask several times before anything happened. Find another place to stay.
