“Fantastic Safari Experience!!”

I highly recommend Nanu’s Bardiya homestay!! Nanu’s home and family are so beautiful and they are very kind and generous and make you feel so welcome! Nanu is an amazing safari guide. He is so knowledgeable on all the animals in the area and is super patient and persistent with making sure every guest gets the opportunity to see all the animals. He’s got great connections in the park and we loved that all the guides call each other when they have an animal sighting. We were lucky enough to see rhinos, elephants and even a tiger on our last afternoon. Bardiya national park feels like a real wild adventure. There are not many tourists and it’s not very commercial. Animals are found by following tracks and dung and listening out for animal sounds. Was a very cool experience. All the food that Kali (Nanu’s wife) makes is delicious. Best Dahl bhat and momos we had in Nepal! She was even happy for us to learn how to make the Dahl bhat and fold our momos. The two boys are great fun and super helpful with helping Nanu and Kali run the homestay. We took a private van from Pokhara to Tansen. Stayed in Tansen (beautiful place) one night then took an overnight deluxe AC bus to Bardiya. There is also the option of flying to Nepalgunj. It is well worth the effort to get out to Bardiya!

“Perfect stay at Nanu’s place ! Amazing wildlife of Bardiya”

All was good. Had a fantastic stay at Nanu’s ! Room is fine and large. WiFi is working perfectly. There is hot water. I stayed 4 nights at Nanu’s place and did both a walking and jeep safari with Nanu and saw so many wildlife ! Nanu is also a wildlife guide. The food is also excellent, the best Dhal Bhat in Nepal. If you want to immerse yourself in a genuine Nepali lifestyle family and share fantastic moments, this is the place to go to ! Also there are many buses coming from Butwal, Pokhara or even Katmandu to reach the place. The bus stop is named Ambassa. And from there Nanu can organise a tuktuk to reach the village. All was perfect. Thanks again Nanu and your amazing family for this amazing stay!

“Most amazing homestay !”

What an amazing place to stay! We have been received in Nanu’s family as if it was our own. My kids and I had reserved for 3 nights and ended up staying 6..! Our room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable. Food was always delicious. Safaris with Nanu in the national park were so nice! He is an excellent guide, very respectful and eager to make sure you have the best experience. Nanu, Kali, Ayus and Arush and so warm, kind and fun! We can only recommend to stay with them! Thank you so much for everything <3!

What started as a 2 day trip to bardiya national park, turned into 6 days, not for the love of the jungle (also that a little) but love for an amazing family. Nanu, Kali and the 2 sons, welcomed us with open arms into their home and lives. We were so grateful for meeting these people, and have the opportunity to spend a week in an almost paradise. When a come back I am not a second in doubt where to stay, and where to get probably the best dal bhat I’ve had in Nepal yet (thank you Kali) and thank you so much Nanu for an amazing week 100/10 starts

Nanu dai and the family are awesome! Didi (the wife) is super cool to talk to. They have 2 boys who are super fun to talk to. Shared fun moments over the bonfire every night. They highly care about the guest experiences more than anything. I'm so glad I made a right decision of coming here.

“very good homestay, don’t hesitate plz”

my second time over there. friendly, kind family. 100% homestay. nanu the husband will be your guide and kali your cook. i ate well (breakfast included, free water bottle). the room and private bathroom are big, with hot water, bucket, mosquitos net but not mosquitos cuz november/december the night it is cold a bit. possible to get 2 blankets if u need. fast wifi (possible to buy data mobil in the village). calm place, vegetation, rice field everywhere in the villages around. good place to rest. good safari also where i saw elephants, otters, birds, tiger, rhino, 2 snakes, deer. safari costs 5000npr (entrance 1500npr and lunch included). cheap and good safari in the nature. I recommand ++, it is not a resort but homestay so it is better. i talked a lot with the family who speak english.

Bardiya is an amazing place, and this homestay is the best place from which to discover it. The whole family welcomed us with open arms from the very first moment. Khali is a lovely woman, she took such good care of us, and cooks the best Dal Bhat I’ve ever had. Nanu is a great host, passionate about wildlife and nature, and it’s incredible to venture into the jungle with him and discover its wild animals together. They helped us with everything we needed, made sure to vary the meals (all of them excellent), and we even cooked momos together. We truly hope to come back one day, and to see you all again! The quiet of the country, the peaceful atmosphere all around, the great food and, above all, the smiles and the warm welcome of the whole family who make you feel you are a friend and not a paying guest. Everybody , including their children, do their best to make you happy and they are fully successful. An outstanding place to relax, enjoy and be cared for.

Everything was just more than what we expected when we first came here. Nanu has treated us as we were part of his family. He was invested in everything : making us comfy, showing us animals during the safari, organizing transports etc… this place is a great value for your money + a real life time experience in a Wonderful family. Kali cooks the best Dal Bhat, Ayush & Arush are the 2 funny boys that will always make you laugh. We also have been lucky enough to celebrate Tihar festival with them in their family and that was an incredible experience.

“BEST PLACE EVER!”

We plan to stay 4 nights at Nanu's house, at the end we stayed 10 days as it was so peaceful! This is the most authentic and lovely place. You live with Nanu, Kali his wife and their 2 sons. Yiy are really part of the familly and you will live their daily life. The private room is classic with all you need, a bathroom with toilet and shower, and a big double bed + single bed, and a fan in case. It's very clean. Kali made very good meals, her Dal bhat is awesome! They are all very nice and they will do everything to make your stay perfect. For me just the best tile i had in Nepal. Thanks again Nanu 🙏

I had a fantastic time staying with Nanu, Kali and children! They were so welcoming to their home and hospitable once you were there. My stay was made up of an amazing walking safari (but they can also do keep), delicious food cooked by Kali (possible the best dal bhat I have had) - including a mo mo cooking class - and lots of fun relaxing at their house and playing with the children. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a wholesome and inclusive experience!

“Lovely homestay at Nepali family”

If you would like to stay in a true Nepali homestay, Nanu and Kali’s place is amazing. They offer a very pure, yet comfortable experience. They have two rooms for rent, and live on the property themselves. Nanu will be able to guide you on hiking safari’s as well for a good price. Apart from that the food is amazing. :) Would 100% recommend anybody looking for a Nepali experience to go here!
