“Book for 2 days, stay for a week or more!”

If you are looking for a home far from home, do not look further! Shekhar was the best host I ad in Nepal. Dedicated, funny and ressourceful, i will come back to his place some days. The room are simple but clean and got charm.

It was absolutely a wonderful experience and great stay, we were planning to stay Bhaktapur for 2 nights but this place is absolutely beautiful and worthy to staying longer than 2 days ,there’s so much to see and to do , the guesthouse is very cozy ,and room is clean,there’s a rooftop sometimes you can see the snow mountain from rooftop,and there’s a kitchen upstairs that you can cook here. Big thanks to Shekhar for everything, see you soon 🫶

This is the place to be if you want to discover Bhaktapur and the Kathmandu-Valley. Shekhar’s place is perfectly located, perfectly clean and cozy. There are plants everywhere, it’s quiet and there’s even a small rooftop to do yoga or just enjoy the sun. Also you can use the kitchen which has everything you need! I think it’s even nicer than you might think when you see the pictures. Furthermore Shekhar is a great host, taking care of everything, always knows what to do or where to go and helps you with organising anything for your trip!

“Amazing location, host, and high value for money”

Shekhar is an incredible host, and if I ever consider coming back to Kathmandu I'll go straight to Bhaktapur and stay at his place again. Very hospitable, offering tea, drinks, and good conversation, helped me out with some bus problems I had by calling the bus company, took me and another guest out for dinner and breakfast at local restaurants/"hole in the walls", gave a mini tour of the local sights in the evening, and gave sightseeing recommendations for me the next morning. If there was no bed and I had to sleep on the floor I would probably still have enjoyed my stay just because of him...

Shekhar was great, took us to a local place for dinner which was delicious. It’s a very chill vibe in the place. The room was spacious and clean.

“Bhaktapur gem”

Shekhar's Shared House in Bhaktapur is a truly special place, perfect for solo travelers. The location is unbeatable—a short walk from Bhaktapur Durbar Square, with easy access to all the main sights, yet tucked away on a quiet street. The house has a warm, welcoming vibe. The beautiful decor features traditional Newari architecture, with intricate woodwork and a cozy design. My room was simple but very comfortable and clean, a lovely private space. The rooftop terrace offers a stunning 360-degree view of the old city and the Himalayan mountains. It is a fantastic spot to relax, especially at sunset. The shared kitchen is well-equipped and a great place to meet other guests, share travel stories, and make a meal. This communal aspect really made my stay feel like a home away from home. Shekhar is an excellent host. He is friendly and helpful and a great resource for local tips on what to see and do in the area. His advice helped me discover hidden alleys and local spots I would have missed otherwise. His hospitality truly makes the place special. I cannot recommend this guesthouse enough for a genuine and memorable Bhaktapur experience.

The location can't be better, just a few steps away from the square. The place has a lot of charm and Shekhar made me feel at home and took very good care of me

Potentially the best place to be in the valley. Shekar makes you feel at home and is a fabulous host. I stayed way longer than I anticipated and it was hard to leave. Good enough internet for worker bees, nice chill spaces for hippies, all around a great place to be.

Shekhar’s home is in a fantastic location, right next to Dattatraya Temple Square in the beautiful centre of Bhaktapur. Shekhar is a fantastic host, a very kind and friendly man who showed me many sights in Bhaktapur that I would never have seen alone. The property has a communal area, kitchen and washing machine so you have all the facilities you need 😁😁😁

Second time in Nepal I choose to stay at Shekar, had the opportunity to see new rooms, in an more local Newari style attached to the main house, and got a nice cozy room. Friendliness and help of Shekar and his familly always make me fell at home. I'll always come back here when in Nepal! (P.S. Ask Shekar mother for Dhal bhat, best home made taste in all Nepal.)
