If you want the place you're staying at during your trip to Bern to truly become part of the experience - I would definitely recommend Zollhaus. What an amazing place! Cozy, surprisingly spacious, in a wonderful location. Watching bears while brushing your teeth? Yes please! Waking up to a view people travel just to photograph? Easy! Absolutely worth it! The staff were very lovely and friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. I would 100% recommend it

Amazing house, unique, very clean, the interior was cozy and charming. The location was fantastic, and the view from the house astonishing! The personnel was very polite and ready to serve all our needs.

The hotel was so comfy that it felt like home away from home! The location cannot get any better and is right at the bridge of the Aare river, offering stunning views. Everything you need is at your door step- restaurants for delicious local food, leafy forests for hiking, and beautiful old city centre for shopping/ tourism. The living space itself is beautiful- historic with a modern twist. There is an entrance hall, living room with a comfy sofa, 2 lovely bathrooms with large beautiful modern showers, a comfortable kitchen with a fridge and a coffee machine (which makes delicious coffee 24/7), a bedroom with a closet, a small adjusted tv room, and a beautiful spiral staircase. As per other reviewers, there were a lot of tourists around the hotel during the busy hours of the day, but it did not disturb us. The rooms in the first floor, including the bedroom, are well- hidden from the view. The rooms in the ground floor area (kitchen & living room) have transparent window curtains, which do a perfect job of preserving your privacy, while allowing light inside. The noise levels were minimal on the ground floor and almost non-existent on the 1st floor, where the bedroom is. Towels in the bathrooms were large and soft, and you also get slippers and bathrobes. The place is very clean and tidy with daily housekeeping visits. There also were loads of windows, which was great for airing. Breakfast was good, and was delivered contactless to your door in cute boxes and bottles. It included traditional Swiss selection of regular cold meats, cheeses, breads, fresh milk and yogurts, croissants, granola/ cornflakes, juices, and at times also fresh fruit platters with strawberries etc. Throughout the stay, we felt very welcome and well taken care of- the hotel staff went above and beyond. The place is super neat as its literally part of the bridge crossing the river. Everything has been remodeled and looks great. The location is great. Overlooking the bears and the river is great.
