This is a special place run by two very special people who do everything to make their guests feel comfortable and welcome. Lovely breakfasts and relaxing pool area.

From the moment we arrived at the gates we were given a warm welcome. It felt like we had come to stay at a friend's house - they made our stay perfect in every way. The house is decorated beautifully, our lovely suite overlooked the garden and even though we were in a city it felt like we were in the countryside - the birdsong was magical. Whilst our suite was spacious the bed was luxurious in its size and the quality of the bedding itself - simply heaven. A fabulous stay and if/when we return to Bergerac we know we will return here.

Clos d’Argenson is centrally located in Bergerac and everything is within easy walking distance. Pascal and Estelle are very gracious and helpful hosts. The rooms are furnished with interesting art and books. The breakfasts are delicious with a range of options. Having breakfast on the terrace was a particular delight. The bathroom in our room was huge, with his and her sinks and a large comfortable shower. This was easily our favourite place to stay during our holiday and I could not recommend it more highly.

It was a beautiful house in a very good location, literally five minutes walk away from the medieval centre of Bergerac.

“Perfection”

Such a stunning place. As soon as you walk through the gate you are transported into tranquility and we absolutely loved it. The decor was so sophisticated and on trend, our room (front suite) was beautiful and so nice to come back to as our base for visiting the city. Both hosts are exceptional and attentive while not intrusive, the breakfast they put on is done with care and attention, the home made yoghurt was absolutely lovely and even the music in the background made it feel all the more special. The outside gardens are perfect and so well kept. To drink some wine by the pool both days we stayed made our trip all the better, and our hosts were kind enough to reserve the hot tub for us on the second night of our stay, which again we loved. For beauty and splendor I cannot recommend this beautiful place and it's amazing hosts enough. Thank you for looking after us.

Excellent breakfast with plenty of good coffee or choice of teas. Welcome bottle of local wine. Cellar with wine and snacks and honesty box for guests. Elegant period property with large rooms and matching furniture. Lots of objet d'art.

Excellent varied breakfast each day. Loved the homemade preserves. Room was wonderful at end of a long day to relax in, would have a appreciated a small fridge to keep water/fruit cool etc. Room very quiet despite being on a main road.

It was beautifully presented, outstanding breakfast which the hosts took real pride in, beautiful place and just a short walk into the town centre. An honesty bar meant that we had a lovely bottle of wine around the pool (ice bucket also provided)

We loved everything about our stay at this fabulous property within walking distance to the old town. The room was beautiful and the breakfast was outstanding- it included home made jams, yoghurt and cakes and varied everyday . Jean Luc and Francois are lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome. The pool was lovely especially as the weather was very hot whilst we were visiting. The honesty bar is a great idea too.

The location of the property was very close tom the old part of town. The room was superb and the breakfast absolutely first rate. Top quality pastries, home made jams, cakes and yoghurt, fresh fruit, bread, cheese and cold meats.

Le Clos d'Argenson is an idyllic paradise, quiet, luxurious yet very central. The perfect place to rest and unwind - especially in the beautiful garden alongside the swimming pool. The breakfast is amazing, home-made jam, selection of cheeses, pastries, cake, fresh fruit and even home-made yoghurt. The owners are charming and helpful but low-key. The location is ideal, within a few minutes walk of the historic centre of Bergerac, although if you want a restaurant the Cafe du Canal, a few doors away, is wonderful, very friendly and great food.

“Great stay close to the town”

Great location and a lovely room. The hotel is really close to the town so we could park our car (in the hotels garage) and easily walk into restaurants and shops. The staff were lovely, spoke good English and their breakfasts were really good.

Super in every way. Owners were super friendly but never intrusive. Location was perfect - a haven of peace within 5 minutes walk of restaurants,shops etc. Breakfast was delicious and varied.

Extremely beautiful home, in a great location for Bergerac centre. Breakfast was a real highlight as was the pool and the honesty bar! Staff were very helpful and accommodating to our needs, particularly as our flight was a little later in the early evening.

It was spotlessly clean . And the attention to detail was amazing . Gorgeous garden and pool area and loved being able to use a communal fridge to store drinks and supplies . Most of all the breakfast was the most beautiful and stylish breakfast I've ever had I think . Crisp white linen, delicious homemade cake of the day with salmon cheese ham and pasties with gorgeous homemade jams and yoghurt . Beautifully presented . Already checking out hotel in Paris
