Great location, friendly and helpful staff and comfortable rooms. The decor was exceptional and I enjoyed the attention to detail with all the quirky French styling and atmosphere including the music and cuisine! Plus as a solo traveller, it felt really safe and welcoming.

Excellent location, beautiful decor and delicious breakfast. The hotel is located on a lively street and is within a 5 minute walk to the fish market, Brygenn and Bergen port. The decor is gorgeous and takes you back in time. Clean and well maintained. The breakfast was very special.

Beautifully decorated in a quirky French-boudoir style—great if you like floral wallpapers and eclectic design. Spacious rooms with massive, very comfortable beds. Well-stocked minibar (though pricey). Daily housekeeping and fresh towels. Lovely a la carte breakfast, unlimited orders, attentive service. Amazing shower and quality toiletries. Free Wi-Fi and immersive ambiance. Good location near restaurants and city life. Ability to save significantly by booking through booking.com.

Absolutely stunning decor, beautiful hotel, could not have been happier with the stay. And given how expensive Norway is (comparatively), it's also really good value for money. And they upgraded our room!

The hotel lives up to.its name. The style is unique very eclectic and very well executed. It is definitely not minimalist! It feels rather like being in a play but with very kind, thoughtful and courteous service. The quality of the food both at dinner and breakfast was excellent

“Book someplace else”

Location is good. Close to all attractions but there are better hotels in the area. There are some issues which come with the location. 1.The hotel reception and the bar are one and the same. The staff gets busy in the restaurant and pay little attention to the hotel reception. 2. The hotel is dark and dingy. There is a sickening smell of cheap perfume throughout but the towels have seen better days and have a musty smell 3. There is music that is piped in all areas, including the rooms. It is extremely irritating. 4. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants that go on until 1pm. The room is hot but you can’t open the windows because of the noise. 5. The concept of providing a romantic hotel in the vein of the decadent Art Nouveau style, has turned tacky with many unnecessary decorations that allude more to a prostitution house than to a late turn of the century Parisian hotel. 6. The tacky decorations are intrusive and cover useful usable space. There are lots of photographs of partially dressed, naked women. It gives it a misogynistic feel. 7. The hotel is odd, not boutique. Access to the hotel is through the kitchen, if using the front entrance.

Extremely unique and unlike the rest of the top hotels, this one takes you by surprise, starting from the lobby to staff and to the room. Possibly the best in Bergen.

The staff and the ambience of the hotel are lovely, the breakfast is great and all cooked fresh. They have a very good kitchen and meals are really good. It is located in a very convenient area for the local sites, everything is close.
