Defiantly hire a car for your stay here and we used use this as our base to explore Beppu, Oita, Kumamoto and Fukuoka, then after a day of exploring use the onsite indoor or outdoor Onsen and soak all your aches and pains away! it was the best and we used it everyday! The place was spacious and clean. Its located in a quiet residential area , so it was a very nice place to relax and unwind after a busy day. Kitchen was fully functional so you could cook your own meals.
