The location is really close to the ocean — only a 15-minute walk with a child. On the way, you can easily find good cafés. We also really liked the swimming pool and the beach at the EKHO Surf hotel, which can be accessed if you buy a day pass. The garden of the villa was really nice — it was a pleasure to spend time there, like being in a botanical garden, with lots of palm squirrels and geckos. We also really liked the hostess’s lovely dogs. The breakfast was abundant and tasty. The hostess also bought us some extremely tasty mangoes, and they were very cheap. After that, we couldn’t find anything similar ourselves. I think such offers are probably only available to locals. The hostess was nice, but communication was not very easy: only one of them spoke English, and even he seemed more comfortable speaking French.

This place is just incredible. The garden is so beautiful and everything is beautiful but unpretentious. I just enjoyed staying there and reading. It is so calm that you don’t hear any traffic or urban sounds, just the birds, animals and the surrounding nature. The stuff is incredibly attentive and nice and the breakfast is massive and delicious!

“Lovely homestay away from the crowds”

Lovely little homestay near Bentota beach but away from the main road. Of course, it's not a 5 star hotel but for the charm, location, price and hospitality it can't be faulted. I had a simple room with a good mosquito net over the bed. Don't expect room service or daily cleaning, go to one of the big hotels for that. Do expect a few insects a lovely dog and maybe the odd gecko. Great hearty breakfast with fruit, eggs and coffee. The owners and staff are lovely people.

Local residence with big lush garden and as a benefit you get the glipse of history. Super friendly stuff and also gave me tips about the neighborhood and even helped me to organise boat trip to Bentota river, which was very nice. Amazing breakfast as well :)

A truly beautiful property right in the heart of Bentota! The house and grounds are absolutely stunning – spacious, elegant, and surrounded by a lush, well-maintained garden that feels like a private retreat. The rooms are large and comfortable, with the charm and character of an old colonial-style home, which adds a unique touch to the stay. The property itself is very spacious, offering plenty of privacy and peace at night, yet it is only a short walk to the beach and the town centre, making it perfectly located for both relaxation and convenience. The Sri Lankan family managing the property is absolutely lovely – warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. Breakfast was also excellent: generous portions, beautifully presented, and full of fresh fruit. The history of the house is fascinating and adds even more character to the overall experience.

The location was excellent and the setting beautiful. Conveniently located near a P&S café come restaurant, which served affordable, tasty snacks and meals. The breakfasts served were outstanding! Wonderful fruit platter and fresh fruit juice. Cooked breakfast freshly prepared and served. The couple running this place were always extremely friendly and helpful. I particularly appreciated that we were offered a complimentary king coconut to drink on arrival.

We loved this place so much, that we extend our stay several times. The staff is extraordinary amazing and the house itself reminds one of a museum rather than a guesthouse. The whole area is beautiful with attention to detail and is keep well maintained! The breakfast is outstanding and there is warm water.
