“Ok but not memorable”

Reception on arrival at 2 am was excellent. Professional and efficient. I was meant to pay upon departure but they tried to deduct before we had even arrived in SL. Corridor to room had no lightbulbs and our room had incomplete room numbers on the door. Room was relatively clean but bathroom floor was peeling, bin was metal and rusting and was a swing bin so you had to touch it. Voile curtain by terrace were dirty and torn. Got an ironing board but limited plug points so choice was under the tv or physically shift the table and chair. Cleaners were thorough every day. The lights were fixed on our 3rd day and after I asked for them to maybe fix the door number, it was done in under 2 hours on our last day. Restaurant was ok. Main restaurant was exceptionally warm. We had to pay for breakfast which I would rate 6/10. Staff were really nice but seemed a little disorganised. Asking for a taxi took a lot of effort. It ended with the nightshift reception guy just laughing when I asked about prices and if he could translate for me. He just couldn’t be bothered and it showed. I made sure that we did not have him for check out. The receptionist who did the check out was helpful & efficient. Location is nice but trying to get a tuk tuk can be difficult unless you walk the 10/15 mins back to main road. We used the back road of the hotel to visit relatives in another hotel, nice walk and during the day, quite safe. Might be an idea to give guests a wrist band because we had to keep trying to prove we were staying there with security. I would not go back because I think you pay a lot for just accommodation. Bathrooms need a re fresh. Pool area is ok, quite basic.

Overall, the hotel is very nice and the location is excellent. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff are attentive and willing to listen. We did experience an issue, but it was resolved through open communication.

Location in front of the ocean and the river while it had big swimming pools. Staff is amazing especially the housekeeping and have your room always clean.

Reception and then boat transfer to the hotel is very special. Location on the beach is great and rooms very comfortable. Housekeeping team, particularly Nuwan, restaurant team, bar staff, pool team, porters and reception staff are all very attentive, friendly and welcoming.
