“Magnificent chateau, clean and comfortable room”

This is a magnificent chateau, beautifully furnished - like stepping into a bygone era. There are areas which are in desperate need of renovation (the breakfast room is very cold and draughty if you're there in Autumn/Winter) but the rooms and common areas are spectacular. I attach some photos, taken at night. Our room was huge, warm, clean and comfortable with a massive bathroom. As people have mentioned before, the one room (which we stayed in) doesn't have a key but it really wasn't an issue. Victoria, a delightful French lady, gave us a very warm welcome, cooked us breakfast each morning (simple but adequate) and was always really friendly and helpful.

We arrived late after a long drive and Duan who had built a fire for us in the drawing room met us on the steps of house. The whole place is Charming and a wonderful eclectic mix of beautiful French antiques and Chinoiserie. The room we had was gorgeous with a super sized bathroom. Breakfast the next morning was really good and very generous, served by the housekeeper who looked after us very well. We are planning a return trip so we can stay again.
