“If you want the predictable comfort of a northern hemisphere chain don't stay. Otherwise it's great.”
This is a simple city centre hotel. Don't expect luxury. However for the money it was fantastic and the staff could not be better and the breakfast is great value. So if as an autonomous tourist you want to stay where Brazilians stay rather than a chain, stay here.

After changing to a room with a view, our stay at Hotel Grão Pará was great! The new room was bright, comfortable, and much more enjoyable. The location is excellent, with easy access to the main sights and restaurants. Staff were helpful and friendly, making sure we were satisfied with the change. Overall, a very good experience — definitely worth staying here, especially if you get a room with a view!

“Comfortable, good location, could improve breakfast facilities”
The hotel is comfortable and well-located. I don't speak Portuguese, and the staff were able to assist me in either Spanish or English.

“Amazing, the staff truly made the place what it is. Walking distance to most of the sights, A++!”
The staff was amazingly helpful, cheerful, gave a really good professional and delightful reception. Willing to help the best way they knew how, made sure to explain everything. The breakfast was good, interesting to try some local food, was verry happy about the fact that they did not try to server a continental breakfast or an english breakfast, but as guest you got the lokal experience.
