We stayed for two nights in October 2025. On October 22 at approximately 6:00 PM—while we were visiting Universal Beijing—the hotel called to request permission to pack our belongings, as our reservation officially ended that day at the standard 12:00 PM check-out time. Critically, there was no advance notice — no reminder prior to check-out, no proactive communication about the reservation ending, and no offer to extend our stay (we were fully prepared to pay for a third night). We reluctantly consented to the packing under significant time pressure, but this situation raised serious privacy and security concerns, as our personal items were handled in our absence without prior arrangement or clear protocol. The response was limited to: “We’re fully booked, nothing we can do,” and “We extended you to 6 PM for free.” While we appreciate the late checkout, it does not mitigate the failure in communication or the discomfort of having our belongings packed without timely notice. For a property of this standard, we expected greater foresight, guest-centric service, and accountability—especially when managing end-of-stay logistics. This experience fell significantly short of those expectations.

“Phenomenal Welcome To China”

One of the best stays of my life and that was thanks to Neil and his team at the St Regis. It was my first time visiting China and I cannot wait to come back. The team went above and beyond, booked great restaurants so I was able to try the local food, organised tours with very experienced guides who spoke fluent English. Indeed, my tour with Angie was the highlight of my trip. I had such a short time in Beijing but because of her skill we were able to pack all the major sights in. It's quite an intense experience going on a private tour due to the 1:1 nature but I was in great hands with Angie. She was extremely knowledgeable, brought all the history and legends of the Chinese dynasties to life and above all it was so much fun! At the end of the tour and my trip I was incredibly sad to leave Beijing and I credit that to the phenomenal hospitality of Neil and the team at the St Regis. Thank you all for such a warm welcome and amazing hospitality.

Staffs generally speak very good English which is rare in China even in top hotels.

This hotel has made it through Covid and lack of foreign visitors utterly unscathed. Pristine as ever and showing no signs of aging. Just utter luxury.

Received the room service card at check out day. As mentioned that I should have a welcome drinks, but I didn’t get it. The electronic plug which next to the bed is non-functional.
