A fantastic place to stay. Armelle and Charles were so welcoming and Armelle is a fabulous chef! Room was spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Food was excellent. Incredibly good value for money.

An idyllic hidden location on an island in the middle of the Loire river, south-west of Angers. An artist community with a beautiful church carved into the rock in the centre of it. What an unexpected pleasure! We turned up on a day when all restaurants were closed and our hosts kindly agreed to prepare a meal for us - a beautiful meal of sea bream and a fabulous bottle of Savennières Chenin blanc to complement. The room was peaceful, and comfortable and the breakfast the following morning was great too. This is an oasis - go there just for the restaurant (on a day when it is open!) Fantastic, kind, friendly hosts - I will definitely try to go back.

The setting on the island of Behuard in the middle of the Loire is attractive and unusual. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful and our rooms well appointed and comfortable. The set evening meal was exceptional and the breakfast generous and beautifully presented.

What a place. There is no chance you are going to regret staying - and dining - here. Your memory will be confusing every Hilton, Mercure, 4* hotel you stay in, but you will be remembering this place and your hosts forever. Must go.

It was absolutely beautiful, the location and the property, and the hosts were exceptional, they waited up very late until we arrived as we had missed our ferry, would definitely recommend and would love to visit again. We didn’t arrive in time for dinner but the menu looked amazing, thank you.

Wonderful stay. Was greeted with an unexpectedly warm welcome from the lovely hosts. The room was so nice and clean with a great view of the little village, and the home-cooked dinner was equally good. Perfect for a motorcycle tour stopover, or more!

Words can not describe the greatness of our stay. Everything amazing - the room size, bathroom, cleanliness, decoration, location in this charming little village on the Loire island. And the hosts were the chapter of its own - they even took the time to cook dinner only for us, they actually made us feel as home. I will keep this review short - please stay there if you are visiting Loire, it is definitely worth while!

L'Audacieuse is located in a very pretty village beside the Loire and our room had a great view of the chapel which appears to grow out of a rock. The couple who own it are charming and are excellent hosts and excellent cooks - we loved having dinner on the decking overlooking their garden. The rooms are modern with comfortable beds and a great shower. It was a great stay and I would happily return.

This place is a gem. Only three bedrooms and 20 covers in the restaurant but you have to try this. The food is exceptional, the welcome warm and the location second to none. I cannot fault this place; it's a little slice of heaven.
