Overview
Just 0.5 km from the famous Gap of Dunloe mountain pass, The Ferris Wheel B&B can arrange scenic tours of the Gap by traditional horse-drawn carriage. It offers free parking, free Wi-Fi, and buffet breakfasts. With views of the flowery garden, horses in the field or the distant mountains, the bright and warmly furnished rooms each provide beds with Egyptian white linen. Rooms all include an en suite bathroom with a power shower. Killarney’s centre, along with its train and bus station, are located 15 minutes away by car. The Gap of Dunloe winds through the scenic MacGillycuddy Reeks mountain range and passes 5 lakes and the River Loe. Kate Kearney’s Cottage, offering a bar/restaurant with live traditional music and Irish dancing, is 5 minutes’ walk away. The beautiful Lakes of Killarney and 2 golf courses are just a 10-minute drive from The Ferris Wheel.

It was such a cute B&B set in the most beautiful scenery. There was a horse in the field behind the property, and waking up to views of the mountains and the horse in the morning was so peaceful. The location was perfect too within walking distance to the start of the Gap of Dunloe walk, and also to the famous Kate Kearney’s Cottage for a pint of Guinness afterwards. John was so nice and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. It was honestly the best place we stayed in Ireland.

Very Nice location for this BnB. At the very beggining of the incredible road of gap of dunloe! Clean quiet confortable and with a calm and pleasant présence of John for any needs.

“Sept 2025 highly recommend”
Great spot, our second time staying. Very clean and quiet. 600 metres from Kate Kearneys cottage at the bottom of Dungloe. Lovely food and good staff. John had a brilliant variety for continental breakfast even offering pancakes! Would highly recommend only 18 mins out of the buzzing Kilarney.

Nice room, clean an comfortable. We saw the Horse Jimy from our room. Enchanting Garden, with Banks where you can seat when the Sun comes out. Rich Breakfast with Pancakes. John is very gentle and gave us good tipps where to eat for dinner, and also indication for the walks around. Very close to the Gap of Dunloe. We enjoyed our stay!

“An exceptionally well run B&B. John was extremely helpful and the area absolutely stunning.”
The breakfast was us was perfect - light and healthy. The property is extremely well appointed in a quiet position. The Gap of Dunloe is a stunning bit of scenery and if you get up early you can drive up the pass without getting in the way of anyone (you should not do this later, please). I photograph birds and got a pic of a pine marten which is a rare sighting anywhere in Ireland.
